Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

We stayed 4 nights and the experience couldn’t be better. Wayne and Ferdinand treated us as if we were from the royalty. I strongly recommend to have dinner in the lodge (Ferdinand cooks really good. We had dinner there the 4/4). The location couldn’t be better, seeing from our rooms impalas, hipos, crocodiles, buffalos, and more animals with very nice views of the river. No doubt that we will come back soon!!

Superb lodge, superbly managed by Wayne, superb location overlooking the Olifants River and the Kruger Park, in fact superb in every way. We stayed at the lodge as our last stop, after spending a number of days in the Kruger Park, before flying home to the UK. If you want first class accommodation in Marloth Park and just outside the Kruger Park, this has to be the best of the best. The bedrooms overlooking the Olifants River are large with all the amenities you could wish for (including a feature spa bath from which you can look out over the river and park), including an outdoor seating area with wonderful views overlooking the Olifants River and the Kruger Park. Access to the Kruger Park is either via Crocodile Bridge (20 - 30 minutes away) or via Malelane (a bit further in the other direction). We were also given the option of an evening meal which we took and was again superb, and which is useful as the lodge is quite remote and would require a drive out to find food after dark. The chef was Pindeli (apologies if I have spelt this incorrectly), and she was great. There are no cats in Marloth Park, so Kudu, Giraffe, Zebra and Warthog roam freely.

Czech Republicin one word = luxury stay in a beautiful location. In a gated community, the lodge was build as a home, later became a lodge. Safe free parking at the lodge. Animals roam around. The rooms were huge with fine african styling, a large bathroom, a terrace with a view of Kruger park. We saw elephants going for the evening drink. Very quiet place. We preordered a dinner at the lodge and we were enjoying fine dining in the huge common area. We shall definitely come back when visiting the area. And stay more nights, not only 1.

From the moment we pulled into the driveway at the property we felt at home. Wayne who is the Lodge Manager welcomed us with such warmth. He helped with our luggage and made us feel very welcome. We walked inside and were overwhelmed by the care that was taken with the decor and the furnishings. The lodge has a very luxurious feel . The quality of the furniture in the bedroom and the bedding etc was exceptional. Great care has been taken to make the guests very comfortable. The owners Carine and Fanie were so friendly and welcoming and made sure that everything was to our liking. They were so helpful with anything and everything that we required. Well done to you all, staff included, on creating a little piece of paradise. I definitely recommend the Lodge as a perfect comfortable getaway. Will definitely stay there again when we go up to Kruger National Park.

United KingdomThe only point I would make is that the Private Lodge is at the end of some fairly confusing and stony gravel tracks which need to be driven carefully i(n an ordinary sedan) and which feel rather like a maze. I would request an email map if you are not sent one or make sure you have Waze or similar installed. Otherwise everything was great.
The location could not be more spectacular and Wayne was an informative and ever-helpful host even calling us out to see up close a kudu passing by. Marloth Park seems almost in the bush: we saw a huge giraffe wandering past, for example.

It was an unforgettable and incomparable experience. Absolutely stunning place right in the heart of the wilderness. It was much more interesting than the safari itself. Every day to have the opportunity to observe wild animals walking near the house, to feed them is an unforgettable experience. There were a lot of animals around- kudu, bushbucks, impala, warthogs, monkeys, zebras. Luxurious rooms overlooking the Crocodile river, a stylish large living room with lovely furniture, a delicious breakfast, an incredibly darling attitude from Wayne who woke up st 4am to prepare our breakfast packages with food and drinks and warm blankets. A beautiful sunrise and a gorgeous sunset that can be observed from our terrace, a variety of sounds of nature and smells - all this was unusual and amazing. I will definitely be back. The best place near Kruger park.
