Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaWe had the most amazing experience at Wielewaal Bush Lodge! We booked the Zebra tent that has a luxurious bathroom, beautiful decor, a very comfortable bed and a view into the bush where you can enjoy your coffee while wildlife is passing by. The rest of the lodge transports you to a whole new world with an explosion of colours, prints, ornaments and greenery that have been perfectly combined. Breakfast and dinner was an experience on it's own and we would definitely recommend adding the 3 course dinner to your booking - the food was delicious and the atmosphere amazing! Retha and Willie were the sweetest, most welcoming hosts who paid attention to every single detail and the rest of the staff was just as friendly. We look forward to our next visit! Would definitely recommend X 1000!

GermanyI wish we had more days to stay there....
It is a paradise in jungle with all modern amenities. Icing on the cake is Tante Rietta and Uncle Willie's outstanding hospitality and delicious food. The office manager, Marietta, was super helpful and courteous. I was there with my 10 year daughter and she was completely in love with the place as it is so nicely decorated. Moreover, there were animals at the backyard and had our breakfast with them. I must say, if you're visiting Marloth Park, this is THE place to stay, never miss it. Highly HIGHLY recommended..... It is more than exceptional!!! Lots of best wishes to them and we will visit again for sure :)

United KingdomA very nice place. It's a sort of luxury camp made up of safari tents and huts, all decorated with very original and ornate antiques and and knick-knacks. The common areas were particularly nice, with lots of different options to relax, have a drink or a swim. The breakfast was great, and what made it all the more special was having the animals come and visit us during the meal. The owners are also very sweet and available.

MalaysiaBeautiful and eclectic lodge lovingly decorated by the owners Willie and Retha. Gorgeous and bountiful breakfast in a bush setting, where animals strolled by freely. Dinners were delicious and hearty and around a boma. The best about Wielewaal are the lodge owners - incredibly warm and welcoming people.

SpainA.M.A.Z.I.N.G! My wife and I were blown away by the love expressed by every trinket, bobbel and detail arranged throughout every area of the Wielewaal Bush Lodge, creating a totally unique and textured atmosphere. The tented rooms compel you to imagine that you are in one of those old movies on a grand safari. Wellie, the owner, waking up at 4:30 in the morning to make sure we successfully got started on our tour of Kruger National Park, just a 30 minute drive away, was another detail, along with his wife Retha, proudly describing the delicious dinners before they are served in yet another beautiful setting. Oh, and sharing breakfast with kudos, warthogs and wildebeests was another plus.

United KingdomImagine a breakfast for a King and Queen. You are in the bush, a sumptuous feast before you on a table adorned with a riot of colour, scent and taste. The attention to loving detail is stunning. A single mongoose appears quickly followed by a swarm of jostling fur, twenty or so darting bodies scouring the ground for offerings. A line of warthogs, some small, others big, meanders towards the table and down on their front knees, they begin to snuffle up the vegetable peelings thrown out for them. All this within touching distance. Several stately Kudus emerge from the brush, mystic beings, and elegantly take green bananas from your hand. Impalas, blue wildebeest and Roebuck enter from the wings - this is breakfast. Wielewaal Bush Lodge is a wonderland. Willie and Retha, the hosts, joyful, attentive and caring, have created a world of extraordinary beauty. An endless collection of historic, quirky, fascinating objects, an exceptional decor full of African mementos fills thatched rooms - a dining room, bar, lounge and various seating areas. Every nook and cranny is a new revelation, an Alladin’s cave, a treasure trove of vibrant colour filling you with wide eyed wonder. Dinner is a performance. The boma, situated down an exquisitely paved path, is a circular amphitheater, tribal patterns painted on the walls, candlelit, with thrones and tables facing the central fire pit. Drums usher in the procession of the food, a feast for the senses and our hosts appear to share the intricacies of the Afrikaans gourmet food laid before you. Their dedication to their guests is outstanding. Your every wish is immediately taken care of. And for the uninitiated to the Afrikaans culture, they are a treasure trove of knowledge and personal insight. A special oasis of joy and beauty. Perfection.
