Absolutely everything! The overall interior was just so aesthetic, with the neutral colours. All the amenities provided were thought out for. The beautiful vineyard around you creates such a relaxing environment.

This was our second Christmas at La Chataigne and we absolutely loved it! The property is beautiful. The hosts are friendly and accommodating. The cottages are stunning- very well appointed and well kept. We have stayed in Blanc and now Chestnut cottages and both were lovely. Chestnut is very private and sits along a river. You can't beat the setting! We have already booked to return next Christmas! Thank you to La Chataigne for some a memorable experience, yet again.

The cottage have everything to you feel at home. It is a very quiet place where you can totally disconnect and rest peacefully. You have groceries 10 - 15 minutes far away of La Chataigne where you can buy all food you need for your stay. During nights, it was wonderful to light some firewood to have dinner with a barbacue. If I return to Franschhoek, my family and I will definitely repeat the staying in this wonderful place.

Very minor point that did not detract from our lovely stay. Some of the windows and exterior doors need a refurb as the wood is quite rotten in places - the main shower room window in particular.

Super comfortable living room and beds. Great living space. Spotlessly clean. Very well equipt kitchen, much more than we expected for a small cottage. Excellent shower. Nice to have a terrace at both the front and back and with outdoor furniture and bbq facilities. Nice pool area in the grounds and pétanque area. Warm and welcoming staff. Good location just outside of Franschhoek (so it’s nice and quiet) and good security - cottage has its own alarm system linked to the security company. Aircon and ceiling fans in the bedrooms and a working fireplace in the living space with wood provided, so all temperature options covered

Nothing to dislike

Blanc cottage as delightful. A true oasis of pace and tranquility to return to. Not that we left in very much! No need once you’re stocked up provisions, and La Chataigne’s wines are delivered to your door and left in the cooler for you if you preorder, so it works perfectly! I would recommend staying at La Chataigne if you’re interested in seeing both Franschhoek and Stellenbosch as both are doable from here.

Lighting outside without curtains meant for a disturbed sleep. Some people are ok with that, but that for me was a problem. Lock on the door to the bathroom needs attention as it was sometimes difficult to open and thought I was locked in at one point. The bed was very creaky on one side, meant that when one turned over at night or went to the bathroom the other was disturbed. If these things are corrected it would be an absolutely perfect stay. Our stay was too short!

Beautiful location and lovely accommodation within easy access to Franschoek and other vineyards. Lovely outlook. Well furnished and equipped. Incredible aroma of white flowers outside the property front and back. Issi explained everything to us perfectly and made us feel very welcome.

I loved every thing about the cottage.

Marron Cottage was a delight. It had all the necessary appliances and amenities and so much more. The shower was the best! EVER.

Was a little disconnected from the Town and this meant that we needed to drive to destinations. But this was not an issue for a short stay

There is very little that could be improved. I though the 1 bed units were free standing but this was really no big deal.

The location and setting is beautiful with easy access to the Franschhoek area. The 1 bed cottages are absolutely stunningly appointed and laid out - love the simple styling. We landed needing to work and the cottage was a great cocoon to sit and work in. We loved every minute !
