the bed was very uncomfortable. It must have been quite old as the springs were completely worn out. it felt like you were sinking in a hole. This is not acceptable for such an expensive hotel

The Petit Room was a littlebit outdated. The bathroom floor was extremely slippery.

Location is perfect just at the beginning of Franschhoek and the Franschhoek Pass. We regularly join for lunch which is always good.

I made arrangements with Marelize prior to our arrival to do something special (table décor and non alcoholic bubbles) for breakfast, but to my disappointment we arrived on Sunday morning with nothing done. Not even a mention to my fiancé to say congratulations ... not a biggie, but it was the reason for the weekend away and I corresponded with them to convey such. We stayed in the bridal suite, and the complementary bar fridge was stocked with 2 Castle beers, some cokes and water. Being the bridal suite, I would have thought a better balance would be 1 beer and a small bottle of wine. The toilet paper holder fell from the wall in the bathroom, it needs some maintenance, and some of the light fittings in the ceiling dangle loosely.

A very welcome from the gate keeper and porter. Both made us feel valued and at home. Welcome drinks were delivered promptly, the porter made dinner arrangements for us. The room was beautifully decorated, the view spectacular and dinner was sublime. The reception desk attendant was less welcoming, but that did not impact the great impression our initial hosts made. The waitress was friendly and professional, and we saw her again at our table for a breakfast feast the next morning. The complimentary items in the bar fridge was an added bonus, although neither of us are Castle beer drinkers.

A most beautiful and peaceful place to stay - we loved everything about it but probably the incredible views and gardens together with the lovely considerate staff made this such an unforgettable time. All staff were friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make our stay memorable. The receptionist in particular was incredibly helpful as on our last day my mobile would not charge, she tested it and found the cable faulty then managed to charge it for me. Our room and bathroom were so comfortable and spotlessly clean. The fresh proteas and fruit we found on arrival and the Nespresso coffee machine added to the sense of being welcome guests at a country house. We had a delicious breakfast each morning where we lingered on to enjoy the view from our table. After breakfast it was just a 5 min drive into the village and later a few hours spent relaxing on our inviting patio before enjoying a delicious dinner. It was with great reluctance that we drove away from La Petite Ferme and certainly hope to return for another luxury week end

Calmer music at breakfast, please.

The view at breakfast was wonderful, but the wood stoves in the dining room at dinner created a warm welcoming atmosphere too. The staff were very keen and friendly - they could tone it down just a touch. The front of house was good and very professional.
