The location of the property was perfect for us as we were there to enjoy the piece and quiet. It’s about 10 minutes walk to the restaurant and shopping area 10 minutes walk is really if you are strolling to town.

We had the most fantastic stay at La Providence in December 2023. The property is gorgeous, spotless and has the most fantastic, relaxed feel to it - but what makes La Providence is the welcoming touch that Gary and Elaine add to make sure their guests have a truly memorable stay. Breakfast was lovely and the pool area could not have been more relaxing...our stay truly exceeded our expectations and we hope to come back soon!!

The room was beautiful, the amenities were great (pool with the honesty bar concept is really cool and gives a chill vibe), the breakfast was wonderful and the hosts Ellen and Gary were just fantastic and made everyone feel extremely welcome and were willing to help with everything. On top of this, the location is perfectly close to downtown Frenchhoek yet still has the remote and scenic vibe of staying on a winery.

Amazing place to stay - a definite highlight of the trip. Beautiful location with incredible views, gardens, pool area and vines. The property itself is beautiful too! The staff were all so friendly and had the perfect balance of being attentive but not invasive. The room was good sized and very comfortable and lots of attention to detail throughout the property. The breakfast was amazing! We were very sad to leave and hope very much to come back in the future.

It was pretty much perfect, so what's to say?

La Providence was is an amazing property on a small, lovely vineyard just outside of Franschhoek. Our room was very impressive and the service and staff even better. We really enjoyed our stay, including the incredible culinary options nearby.

Everything was perfect.. if I was being very picky (and very pathetic), I would say only thing I didn’t like was that the fire pit was alight for either night…. and the bar wasn’t open when we got back either night….

everything here is simply amazing: from the rooms, to the surrounding, the wine yard all around, the views to the mountains, the atmosphere and of course Ellen and her husband did all the best to make those days unique for us. They run the business in an excellent way, the beds are sooo comfy and all new and clean aaah also the breakfast in the morning is delicious with fresh cakes. My boyfriend and I loved La Providence and felt home immediately to the point we decided to spend the last day in South Africa here because this is the best place to chill and relax. We will definitely come back!!

Location was in a quiet, secluded area but close to all amenities (food, wine, outdoor activities, etc.). Can walk safely, or drive. Property is immaculate, well maintained and very comfortable. Host and staff were professional, friendly and helpful with advice on local options. Highly recommended and definitely a place that we plan to visit again.

There was nothing we didn’t like. The owners are keenly aware how to provide 10/10 outstanding hospitality.

From the warm, personal welcome by Melvin and Ellen to the small touches at in the room, breakfast and the complimentary nibbles and drinks in the room, our stay at La Providence was outstanding. The grounds and attention to detail to the surroundings was superb. The breakfast by the pool/pool house was varied, healthy and beautifully presented, all homemade by Ellen and her friendly and helpful staff. Gary, Ellen’s partner, was as helpful and welcoming, informing us nothing was too much of a bother to ensure our stay was a happy one. The location is just off the main street of Huguenot Road where there are cafés, shops and restaurants; a 12 mins walk which is not far yet far enough to feel like you are in a secluded and exclusive guest house. Importantly, all staff, from Ellen, Gary and Melvin to their gardeners and housekeeping staff were smiley and friendly. Truly a wonderful stay which exceeded our expectations. Thank you, La Providence!

Our stay couldn't have been any better! (Just a bit longer.)

Staying at La Providence was the perfect ending to our South Africa trip. Ellen and Gary welcomed us with open arms. La Providence is located a bit outside of Franschhoek, yet it's just a quick 5-10min walk to the city center. The room was clean, spacious and had a large balcony facing a lovely and quiet inner courtyard. Ellen and Gary, together with the amazing team, offered a breakfast that left nothing to be desired. La Providence is the perfect place to enjoy a few relaxing days in the Cape Winelands. We highly recommend La Providence and would definitely stay with Ellen and Gary again.
