En-suite bathroom had no door or seperating curtain. Drawers were dusty, but that is understandable in a dry Karoo environment.

The swimming pool was filthy. Area around the pool very neglected. Garden not maintained - such potential! An aircon would have been great - temperature was 40°C outside the fan in the room did not help much. The bed was comfy but a bit short for tall person. Extra length would have been even more comfy.

Loadshedding and the Neighbour's generator drone at 5am, but to be fair this is not the establishment's fault! It is the failure of Eskom and the Government of the day!

Breakfast was good and the staff was able to accommodate me with my dietary requirements without any issues or fuss!

This house deserves a garden to match. It would be great if they can put in some plants: an old fashioned rose garden, lavender, anything. Or perhaps drought resistant plants like succulents and spekbome.

The bathroom needs an upgrade, especially the shower floor, a porcelain title would be great than the current white board they have. The TV kept losing signal.

It was very cold so I appreciate the fireplace being prepared for me and that there's electronic blankets for the bed. Delicious breakfast.

Very little to fault. Being picky I could say that the fan operations could be simpler. But once you figure it out it is simple.

Stayed overnight on my way back from Grahamstown to Cape Town. The guest house exceeded my expectations ... beautiful old building which is lovingly restored, very friend owner and staff, extremely comfortable and the breakfast was sublime.

That the room we were in did not have hot water. When you turn the tap to hot water there are no water. They did not give us a wifi code and we could not find anyone on the premises for the wifi code. We did not book for the breakfast, because i could not find it on the booking app, i asked the lady if we could have breakfast the Sunday and she said no, because they did not plan around the breakfast for us.

The property is dated and the motorised gate was still broken and left for anyone to open. We stayed in the self-catering unit and there were no plugs in the loft area and also no coffee or tea in the kitchen. Ran out of electricity where the owner send me a WhatsApp with the voucher to add. Overall not a great experience and I would not return to this property.

The reception we received from the staff was impeccable. We were stuck inland due to the floods and needed a place to stay, La Struzzo was booked on a whim and it exceeded my expectations. Everything was designed well, clean, comfortable and the entire boutique hotel had such a beautiful ambience.

Shower was dirty. Dead flowers in vases all over. The inverter beeped like a truck reversing all through loadshedding waking me up and keeping me awake twice. Breakfast was decidedly average. I made the fire and switched on lamps etc in the evening. Garden is in a shocking state. Photo’s advertising the property are not true to reality. Staff member Bianca was very sweet, but staff training would not go amiss.

We could not find the swimming pool which was prominent in the photographs. The public toilet next to our bedroom had a bowl of manky soap ends and toilet roll tubes littering the room.

We did not stay for breakfast, we were disappointed with the run down state of the building. There was no door or curtain on bathroom / toilet. So no privacy. Bianca did her best.
