We loved the location, the beautiful furniture and beautiful garden. Nono prepared a lovely tasty breakfast which we enjoyed and Nono is very friendly. It felt like we have know her years.

Having to move rooms was a disappointment. Intermittent and later no wifi. A town map and tourist ideas and permits would have helped. Double bed in outside room needs replacing

Nono and Angel were so generous. Nothing was a bother and they are delightful. The view is amazing. Constant electricity a treat. Secure, clean and close to the centre

I do not even know where to start. The accommodation was lovely, the location was perfect (and beautiful) (and serene) (and picture perfect). The staff we met were all wonderful people.

The double bed in our one room 7 felt like we both slept on rocks. Body was soar the next day. Plz have the mattress replaced. Other than this love the place.

I was satisfied with everything.

I liked the fact that although the guest house was old (in keeping with the era of Clarens) it had basically all of the modern facilities to cater for guests. I also appreciated the fact that management responded promptly to a few minor hiccups that arose. The staff were super-friendly and the breakfast amazing.

Plant overgrowth in front garden does now justify the beautiful view one has from the facility. Some maintenance needed to retain the beauty and heritage of this facility.

Interesting building style and workmanship of that era, beautiful view from the room of mountain and lake. Relaxing and peaceful environment. Good breakfast with friendly staff.

The charming Lake Clarens Guest House is very conveniently located near the entrance to Clarens from the Fouriesburg (R711)/Golden Gate Highlands NP (R712) side, and is just a couple of minutes walk to the shops, restaurants, and activities of the town square. (Be sure to dine at Gosto's on the square at least once!!) Parking is in front of the guest house, on the gravel drive separating the house from the lake directly across from it. Being sited slightly off the main drag means its location is tranquil and relaxed but close enough to the fray that you don't feel isolated. There is also a nice comfort-food restaurant/bar adjacent to the property. Spectacular Drakensberg sightseeing begins just a few minutes out of town transiting (free!) Golden Gate Highlands NP along the R712.

I would have preferred parking behind a fence or in a garage but we were assured that there was a security guard at night and I did see a light around 0300 in the morning. Generally I would not stay at a place without proper secured parking but in this case it seemed to work.
