The booking was made for a 2 bedroom house, but on arrival we were shown to a one-bedroom house. The advertisement says 2 bedroom house but the fine print says 1 bedroom. This should be clearly stated in the booking. The wi-fi and Netflix didn't work during our stay.

The location was beautiful and central, lovely paths to walk on. The inside braai area is wonderful with stunning views of the lake. Spacious and well equipped.

The booking said 2 bedroom, but was only one bedroom and a lounge where kids can sleep, the owner's did help with another room. Unfortunately we left our friends in the house, so we took the room that was given to us.Thanks to Ben and Hanneke to help out with the misunderstanding on Booking.com website.

Bed wasn't very comfortable.

Ideal location for a retreat. I enjoyed a quiet and peaceful getaway, in a beautiful modern cottage with stunning views. The cottage was clean and neat, the staff & owners gives you sufficient space to stay isolated. Great Wi-fi connection with a Smart TV. Loved everything about it!! Definitely going to come back.

It was peaceful. A cosy little cottage just what I needed. So many birds and a few little buck passing through in the early evenings and mornings. Catherine (the lady on site) was amazing and so helpful with whatever assistance I needed.

Disturbing are the table chairs and huge sofas that look good but are highly uncomfortable. The chairs would be good in a church but not at an eating table. The sitting positions is pressing your belly if you are not totally slim. The huge sofas are also not comfortable, so it is not really cosy to sit down.

It is a self catering cottage with a breath taking view far on mountains and lake/dam. The major road crossing the valley, c 1 km away, in front of the beautiful view, is however well in your years reach and sometimes too noisy. Most of the time however not disturbing. The sleeping room is on the other side of the cottage. The cottage is really offering everything needed, including a well working barbeque place in house. Nice small kitchen and well equipped. The gliding windows transforming the living room to a terrace is magnificent! Plenty to see in the vicinity, especially the excellent chees manufacturing farm in the Cheerio road is very recommendable, and the beautiful gardens and landscapes every where.

One can hear the cars in the busy R36 road in the valley below but I didn't find it invasive or at any time a noise nuisance. Proximity to the road is actually an advantage if en route.

Exceptionally clean and comfortable in a secure environment. The cottage has everything you need, including an internal fire/braai place! The garden and birdlife is magnificent :)

Access was a problem. The driveway has two gates. Had a long wait and a few calls for someone to open the first gate. Then once we were through no one opened the second gate leaving us trapped between the two gates in hot riding gear. We were told to hoot and someone would open which didn't work. Made a number of calls to contact person which either did not go through or were cut off. Very frustrating! Eventually decided to walk around the perimeter fence and found a pedestrian gate and then found someone to open the gate for us. He was very apologetic and explained that he had given the staff off, but had not been told of our arrival. Fortunately the excellent views and beautiful gardens compensated for the inconvenience. An outside braai would also have been nice. The braai area is enclosed which is probably great for poor weather but on a beautiful evening an outside braai would have been better.

We just wished we could stay longer!

Fantastic location! A lovely little house. More space than we expected. Wonderful kitchen with everything you could need. Just bring your own food! The view is something out of this world. We liked it so much, we will never want to stay at another place when we come back to this area! A private, special place to go if you want to get away from everything. We did a hiking trip every day in the area and enjoyed every moment when we returned to our little home far from home.
