How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

What an amazing place to stay! The warm welcome of Warren makes you instantly feel at home. Really friendly and kind!! For us it was a short but lovely stay, we would definitely come back! P.s Go to the lagoon (Kraalbaai) in West coast National Park on a warm sunny day :)

Absolutely everything. This place is simply amazing, and you will feel right at home straight away—home in paradise, of course. It is superbly located for all activities and water sports, etc. Warren is an amazing host and one of the nicest people you will ever meet, with tons of recommendations ready to give you. You will never be bored, and you will see some real gems, too, when you listen to his advice. Highly recommend, we will definitely coming back🤙

The only addition to the room in mid summer would be a fan of some kind .
Loved the location The comfortable non stress environment, relaxed chilled host Warren The room had everything we needed toiletries, soft plush towels The shared kitchen, lounge outdoor pool was brilliant. 5 mins walk to beautiful beach and restaurants

fantastic place and warren/helen are awesome hosts. completely new rooms with new floors, a lush garden with pool. fully equiped kitchen and superfast WIFI; great for remote work we had 2 great braais and its superclose to the beach; kite equipment can be stored in the garage.

My stay was too short😊
Location was superb and so close to the lagoon. Host was very helpful with tips on where to go. He also checked in regularly to see if everything was OK.

I liked everything about this property. The only wish it would be so awesome if there was a heated pool or a hot tub- it would be such a nice way to relax after all activities in the cold ocean water :)
The location is perfect, walking distance to the main street with shops& restaurants and beach.

The only thing we were not fully satisfied with was the cleanliness of the shared parts, and in particularly the frequency of emptying the trash bins. However, it was obviously done when we asked, so I would hold any grudge against it :)
It was nearly perfect, that is if to sum it up. Great estate in a great location inside Langebaan, very close to the beach, restaurants and bars. The rooms were well equipped and so was the shared parts like the kitchen and living room (with cable TV etc.). Warren, the owner, was very thoughtful and helpful, and aided in everything.

Almost no provision during electricity load shedding, something that is endemic problem in South Africa. No blockout curtains with street light close by.
Host Warren was very positive about the beautiful area the guest house was in., with lots of good stories.. The suite was large and comfortable. Great to have access to kitchen.
