There was a room door connecting to the main house or office (not sure) and I could hear someone through the door playing video clips on their phone. Very slight though.

Very cosy room and very big and comfortable bed with electric blankets. Very clean and hospitable staff. I'd stay there again.

the shower and toilet were too small, and the hot water takes too long to come out of the taps. this wastes a lot of water and you end up taking too long in the bathroom. the gas cylinder for the heater was empty and we couldn't be given a new one so we had to spend the cold night without heat.

The price of the property got very expensive comparatively to other properties as out date for check in got closer. Unfortunately this was due to factors beyond our control. The meals were not halaal and this is something the property could look into for the future.

The place was very clean and comfortable. Its location is also great.

Noise travels easily between the rooms. I could hear my neighbour's telephone conversation from my bed.

The linen looked like it had not been changed , as there was hair between the sheets. the door handle was not easy to lock. The cleaners were noisy.

The owner was nice and warm , welcomed me upon arrival and seemed interested in my visit.

The place is just not up to standard for the price that you pay and what is been offered by booking.com. We are very frequent travellers - about 30-40 guesthouses all over the world per annum... and this one stands out as not up to the standard that is expected. The towels in the bathroom are not even of the same colour - one beige and one green, one of the side lamps does not work. There is a general feeling that for the price you pay the place should be better maintained. We have stayed for R400 less in a top notch guesthouse in Knysna with an excellent breakfast and for the same amount less in an even better place in Kirkwood.

Location is great. Lovely environment. Good clean linen and a good bed and very good toiletries.

I love the location as it made it easy for me to get to my work assignment and also when arriving and leaving. Adriana is an amazing host and the staff, Pam and Gogo, just magnificent. Rooms are homely and beds comfortable. The food is great and I loved the fact that they accommodated a request I made with no fuss.

The low point of the otherwise great stay was that the geyser had been broken. No prior warning and it wasn't known until I complained. There was no hot water at all and to need to be ready after long journey to Makhanda for my graduation ceremony without even a warm shower was terrible. The alternative offered was to use the shower in another guest's room. Was quite disappointed

The breakfast ladies were lovely. The rooms were comfortable and it was close to Rhodes University - where I needed to be for graduation.

This place is a haven of tranquility - perfect for business and leisure sojourns in this area. Adriana is an amazing host. She is profoundly invested in the wellbeing of her guests before, during and after their stay at the guest as exemplified how she regularly communicated and took trouble to check on us to ensure that we were comfortable at all times. We also appreciated her responsiveness immensely. The staff were equally courteous and professional.
