I’m need of some upgrade renovations - upstairs window did not close which in colder weather was not ideal. Blinds in the main bedroom were broken too and the aircon in the lounge made a loud noise when in use. Given that loadshedding has been around in South Africa for some time now, some provision for TV and wifi would be welcome.

Nice location close to the main road and local shops. Downside is that it is a cross the road from a pool being built and this has some night time inhabitants that were not pleasant to have around.

The WiFi never worked and the only way to watch TV is through WiFi. We wanted to watch the rugby game Friday evening and unfortunately had to make alternative arrangements. When I bathed the first night after being out and it really being cold, I noticed the bath inside was not clean and had to clean it first. The loft bedroom did not have bath towels but it was delivered the next day after we asked for it. That being said, everything else was really great.

It is a beautiful cottage, cozy, comfortable and convenient.

Fireplace didnt work. We were informed on check in that gas was scarce in the area but there would be at least half a tank to make a fire - so we didnt make a fire the first night and decided to save it for the second - but on the second evening we still couldn't make a fire at all. There were instructions to do it manually if it didn't work right away, which we tried as well with the lighter provided ... but that too had no gas at all. We found matches but couldn't get anything to start, despite multiple attempts. Messaged hosts via booking.com and had no reply - figured no one answered as it was after 6 - but expected someone in the morning would at least acknowledge my message but nearly end of the day now and still nothing. Location makes it worth while anyway and there were many good points. It was just disappointing as fire place was a huge part of why we booked.

Comfortable, nice spacious space, location into town was perfect and an easy walk. Peaceful neighbourhood. House was perfect size for our group of 5 people. Clean. Easy check in. Heating was great when power was on.

We love braaing and was a bit disappointed that there was only a gasbraai. This did not however affect our wonderful stay.

We loved the location So close to everything in town. Beautifully decorated and comfortable. Loved having the pool as we experienced the hot weather during our stay. Pieter was an exceptional host.

We had to pick up and drop off keys. Would have been easier to lock house and leave keys in a drop box. The geyser was off so we had cold showers the first night! There was some info on this but you had to scan a QR code to get it! Once the geyser was on , the overflow flowed all night making you think it was raining! Too many keys!!

The location was excellent! The house was comfortable.

We stayed at Lemon Cottage for 2 nights in November and I can say it was okay. Essentially the place is fine - rooms appear to be clean and the space is decent however upon further inspection, things are very dirty. Blinds in the bathroom have not been cleaned and are full of dirt, skirtings need to be wiped down and cleaned, chips in the wall and areas need to be repainted. The oven had not been cleaned and the tray was full of food. The grater too was full of old cheese and food and had not been cleaned. The pool was full of leaves and not inviting. When we arrived, the wifi was not working. I called Peter and send whatsapp and to date no reply. We had no wifi connection for our 3 day stay and no communication from Peter the host as to why. Upon check out, my husband spoke to him about it and he had a very lack luster attitude about it. Normally I wouldnt care but I needed to work and had to use my mobile data for the full stay.

The location is good - close to town and in a safe small complex. The house had extra lights for during load shedding. The stay was fine but I wouldnt be back.

Peter was fantastic. We ran late for key collection after a delay at car rentals, Peter waited patiently and welcomed us upon arrival, making an effort to let us feel comfortable and welcome.

Property and pool were not clean. Rubbish sacks from previous occupants still on premises. Torn cushions on outside furniture. No toilet paper. No fresh linen supplied until we complained. Toilet seats needed replacing. Braai filthy so could not use. We agreed to meet the manager to discuss the issues but he didn't turn up. We would have thought some partial refund was due but no resolution from Booking.com.

Property was within easy walking distance of town centre.

The gas braai wasn't great, but it wasn't as if we expected something else. We just prefer old-fashioned wood and coals braai.

it was difficult to get keys it took us about 2 hours. then we had to force the garage to get in the property due to load shedding. pool was filthy and could not be used. patio furniture was dirty as were the cushions. bathroom showers were not were clean. Towels were thin and stained although had been washed. not really enough crockery.

A couple more tea spoons would be fabulous. Soap dispensers near all the taps. Communication on how to get out of the garage during load shedding. The house needs a deep clean, especially the carpet in the lounge. A good amount of Doom or such needed for the ants in the kitchen. Salt and Pepper grinders would be first prize.

Excellent location with beautiful views. The beds are incredibly comfortable with exceptional linen. The space is really comfortable with good heating in the Winter and air conditioner for the summer. Even a perfect size swimming pool. The short walk to the main road to access restaurants and art galleries is glorious.

The property is managed by an agent and if I were the owner I would be disappointed if I knew my place was so generally poorly maintained. while there was not one large problem, below is the list of snags, the worst being that the place is generally grimy and not properly cleaned: * Light switches on 1 bedside lamp in 2 of the rooms faulty * Bin in en-suite bathroom broken * Soap in bathrooms diluted and container old and damaged * Blinds dirty * Dusty under beds * Laminated floor scuffed and dirty * Dust under carpets and TV stand * Knives blunt * No tea pot * Throw rug in lounge needs cleaning * Curtains in lounge dirty * Pool Kreepy Crawly had a rock lodged in it for weight but just needed pipes rearranged and now goes through whole pool * Pool poles squashing pot plant * Kitchen counters all dusty * Toaster dirty * Gas braai dirty and General area * Ironing board cover has holes * Geyser temp insanely high

It is a potentially stunning unit.

Dirty braai are and surface. Weeds everywhere, the property ran out of electricity, and we couldn’t cook. No bin bags provided, no dish liquid, no dishwasher detergent or soap, no kitchen cloth. the Greyer leaked spewing boiling hot water, the drain of the shower was blocked. This is definitely not worth the rate per day. I wouldn’t recommend it.

I liked that it’s a short walk to the Main Street and it has a pool. but everything else was disappointing.
