Very spacious relaxing cabin on the riverside.

Only one working socket outlet in the whole cabin. I was told that the other outlets were deliberately disconnected. Very inconvenient since it’s in the kitchen. I’ll remember to bring my extension cords and multi plugs next time.

Hearing the water flow from the cabin windows is very relaxing. Going for an afternoon walk along the river bed enjoying nature.

Location is ideal. Quiet and secluded in great surroundings, but only a short drive from Graskop and God's Window. Charl was very welcoming and helpful.

If you don't have a car just like me, you're lost! Unfortunately there's a lack of transport (hoping one day things will change) so, you better go there having a car!

The place is just stunning, all greenery around you so if you're a nature lover is the place for you! Plus Mister Charl is just a great, friendly and lovely man who is always ready to help and give you any kind of advices.

It is a rural area… so you will hear the animals outside. We enjoyed it a lot, but it is something to know.

The lodge is located in a remote area. The guest house is a very cute brick house with good amenities and a lot of space! It is nothing fancy, but fits well in the spirit of the place. We really enjoyed the attention for ecology that the owner has instated. The host is adorable, very available, had good tips (he actually even gave us tips via message before we even arrived to the property) and… most importantly, he fixed our car that had a windshield problem when we arrived (thanks again for that!).

A truly idyllic hideaway amidst a green and spectacular scenery, yet close enough to Graskop. Charl and his gentle dogs are lovely hosts. The house is comfortable, we especially liked the bright living area, so one must not be afraid of rainy hours. It is an easy walk to Lisbon Falls or over the hill to Berlin Falls. Altogether a stay in nature, you hardly find anywhere else. Electicity is on Solar, water and cooking on gas - so no loadshedding!

One working plug, then again I wanted to be more with nature and that's what I got haha! Not a place to work remotely. But beautiful enough to take all the scenes in and allows you to appreciate the beauty.

The dogs, location and host. The surroundings and views, everything gives a tranquil feel.

Charl was the perfect host, very friendly, helpful, gave very good recommendations, took a lot of time to show us around the farm and let us experience the historic specialties. Waking up to the sheep and goats grazing right outside our door and being greeted by the three friendly dogs was a special start to our days.

It was a very cold night when we arrived. The chalet was too cold to enjoy a good evening. No heating provided except for thick blankets and hot shower.

Charles was a great host and extremely helpful with recommendations on walks and restaurants. We had such a memorable walk with his dogs Eva and Rebecca to the waterfall. They were guiding and protecting us at the same time. The sheep at his property were so well trained too, very friendly to children. Nature at this place is amazing!

Just a minor comment regarding the access: the road to reach the lodge is in very bad state, but it's only 500m long. The sign on the main road indicates "Lisbon Eco Lodge" but once at the gate, there is another indication ("biker rest" or something like that), so it's a bit confusing, and there was no bell to ring. But soon the employee of the farm saw us and gave us the key. also a last difficulty: the width of the entrance gate is quite narrow and not easy to handle with large cars.

We really enjoyed the location of the lodge, at 1-km distance from Lisbon Falls (reachable on foot, following a trail during 15 min), in the countryside, very quiet. the garden of the lodge was nice, full of birds, but partly burnt a few days before (probably helping to be nicer in summer then). The chalet and furnitures were nice and confortable. the owner was very friendly and happy to show us his farm and sheep.

Would have liked to have an oven (Charl says it's coming soon 😁). The geyser was at times problematic, so it was difficult to get the water temperature right for showering. Perhaps 1 non-stick frying pan would be nice, otherwise the kitchen had all the utensils we needed.

Lovely location on the Panorama Route, so close to God's window and the amazing Gorge Lift. Completely off-grid, with a gas geyser and stove. Charl was very friendly and helpful, and provided a gas heater that kept the cabin cosy at night. Beautiful river on the property, with tap water straight from the aquifer, we didn't need to buy water!

    Absolutely nothing!

Had a lovely stay in this tranquil off the grid cabin where you are surround by the beauty and Sounds of nature. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway or looking for a nice place to stay when visiting local attractions such as Gods Window. The owner is an amazing host and he has two beautiful and friendly dogs who welcome you as if they know you for years!

Lack of having firewood in the Moffat House, not having an iron for clothes displays the disadvantage of living of the grid.

Learning how possible it is to live off the grid. Peaceful and extra quite environment. Walking distance to Lisbon Falls.

The shower was a disaster. No water pressure. Problems with temperature regulation. Shower hose damaged and leaking. This is not up to standard and the owner needs to fix it. It was winter during our stay and with this shower we really suffered. No towels provided. The fireplace has a tendency to release some smoke into the living room. We only figured out later how to place the fire so it would not smoke into the living room.

Secluded location in nature. We stayed in the Moffat House which is 150 years old. My children enjoyed playing with the sheep and dogs on site.
