While the staff was friendly, the service was slow and not always very committed. The owners are not around and we only saw the service staff at breakfast. Overall the accommodation is very beautiful, but the service does not live up to the price of the stay.

The property is beautifully maintained. The garden is very nice and the rooms are clean if not the largest. You can get beach towels and the property has a sun umbrella and beach chairs which you can borrow for free for use on the beach. The breakfast offers a very tasty sourdough bread, fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurt and the usual egg based breakfasts. The neighbours cat also came by every evening to get her fair share of stroking and cuddling. :-)

There wasn’t anything about the property we didn’t like. The staff were nice when they were there. We only really saw them in the morning for breakfast. It would have been nice to have them around for a couple of hours later on in the day to answer questions sort out transport etc.

Well maintained property with really nice communal area. The interior of the room we had was really nice and it felt very homely because of all the nice ornaments and decoration. The room was spotlessly clean, the bed was really comfortable and it had everything we needed. The breakfasts here were really good and set you up perfectly for the day ahead. Communication with Chereen was excellent throughout. Freebee the cat is such a character and we enjoyed playing with her everyday and we made sure she got a bowl of milk each time she visited! We had a feeling she probably ‘plays’ each room this way. She’s a cat with sass!

Magical place! Evans is the perfect host and the place has so much Charme. We stayed for one night during our garden route trip but in hindsight would have loved to stay longer!

Wonderful service and hospitality from the staff - very welcoming and had a welcome bottle of wine and strawberries as had told them it was our honeymoon. The whole vibe of the guesthouse was lovely and comfortable. Rooms large and comfortable beds, decor nautical and modern. Helped us arrange any day activities - short drive from Roberg Nature Reserve. Breakfast was great and lovely outdoor setting.

The waiting time for our second coffee was long 😉. In the night there was a bird „singing“ loud for hours and hours right in the tree close to our room. But that’s Africa, I guess.

Breakfast was cooked fresh every morning and served in a nicely manner. The premises were great and perfectly decorated. Very nice atmosphere.

The only thing that was a bit negative was the mating frogs that made a lot of noise. We mentioned this to the owner though and thanks to a little trick the second night was already much better

I stayed in the New Story Suite and the bed is in need of a new mattress. It's a bit worn out on the sleeping sides so there's a ridge in the middle. Also, I didn't see a cat anywhere but I would recommend anyone wanting to stay there who's allergic to cats should take extra strong antihistamines with them. I fell asleep twice with the brown blanket on me that was on the bed and both times I woke up with the typical cat allergy reaction. It was only after the second time that I realised a cat must be getting into the room while I was out and sleeping on that blanket.

Evans was just amazing, he's proactive and thoughtful. The breakfasts were truly fantastic. They really have thought of everything to make your stay at Long Story memorable. Everything is exactly as advertised on the site, it's a beautiful spot.

Would like some food on site apart from breakfast but understand this is not what you do.

This place is small and homey. Really lovely room (middle suite) , excellent quality furnishings and felt a little luxurious along with super comfy. Only 5 rooms so always felt you could get staff attention if needed. Evans and his colleagues were super helpful and accommodating. Would have loved to have stayed longer and chilled out more but alas no time!
