Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The apartment is well located near a shopping center which makes it convenient. The apartment was well equipped even though it is self-catering. It is evident that the guests experience is taken into consideration. It is beautifully furnished and was a comfortable stay.

South AfricaMy partner and I stayed at this luxury home for 4 nights and it was truly opulent. From the luxury linens and towels right down to the kitchen utensils. Check in was simple and the host was great at communicating to make our stay memorable. We especially appreciated the finer opulent touches and the gift basket as we were celebrating our anniversary. The complex was close to malls and common routes, yet still provided us with the peaceful and exclusive stay that we needed. The bed, luxurious bathrobes and big screen TV was a bonus! I would highly recommend this apartment! 👌

South AfricaFirstly, let me just put it out there that this is a very nice and comfortable place. Its really a shame that we had the worst experience with the hosts. They make you pay a security deposit of R2400 and I believe that this is their strategy to scam and defraud guests. We were given 2 numbers of 2 different ladies, the hosts. Ahead of our arrival, we’ve been communicating with Lady 1, but there was this one time where we texted and she took time to respond and we were asking about check-in instructions, so we decided to text Lady 2 and she didn't respond as well, until Lady 1 responded after a while. On day 2, at around 7pm, we texted Lady 1 again to ask if we could check out at 11am the next day (instead of 10am). She never responded. On the next day, the day of checkout, Lady 2 walked in with the cleaner at around 10:30 and found us still packing our stuff. We apologized for being late and told them that we sent a request but got no response. The lady said “oh you should've texted me instead because I'm the one who usually responds quick to guests”. We said oh we sent a text on Friday and you didn't respond so we used the one that we got a response from. She said it was fine and started with the cleaning while we took our stuff to the car. They bid us farewell and we were out. Lo and behold!!!! Later that day we received a message saying that they had 2 kitchen sink stoppers and they could only find 1. We didn’t take the stopper and the lady was doing the dishes when we were leaving so what do you mean the stopper is gone? I mean, if we wanted to take something, we could’ve taken something really valuable, I did mention that the apartment has very modern and luxurious pieces. That was when it hit us that there was gonna be issues around the deposit. They never mentioned the stopper again.

South AfricaNo small gas stove or kettle to make coffee during Load shedding. And we are using booking.com very often, it was the first time ever we need to pay a refundable deposit!
Very nice big appliances, like washing machine, fridge .... but for a day or 2 stay, it is not necesssary. Rather a small gas camping stove for making coffee during Load shedding.
