How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The room wasn't ready when we got there. the safe in the room wasn't reset. the toilet paper wasn't replaced. the towel was wet. the night lamp didnt work. the remote for the air conditioner was hidden. the telephone didn't work. the shower head was squiruting all the directions and it was very unusable and hard to shower. we didn't get water bottles in the room. the acoustic in the bathroom was bad. the closet in the room was in a dark place without lights.
the variety and quality of the food in the restaurant. the stuff. the area is quiet

not always friendly staff. Very bad internet connection, WIFI most of the time off line. In the room specially but also in the lounge. It was 'just a bad connection', there was no excuse or anything. It was normal.
bed was ok; bar and restaurant good; variety on food, good value for money. Nice lounge.

I didn't like what they did in room allocation Because I booked twin room of which it is our preference but they gives us king bed. I was so disappointed because we have to sit at. the passage while they rearranged the room and we were so tired, when we entered the room we were sneezing of the dust

Attitude of one of your front desk ladies
I was disappointed with the lady at the front desk who was helping chevk out. I requested a shuttle and she couldn't release a shuttle for me bcoz her boss was in a meeting. I was rushing for a flight outside SA, and had money for the shuttle. Thank God for the driver who appeared and saw my frustrations, drove me to the airport. I managed to check it on time.

The room was too tiny to accommodate two people and on top of that it was dusty. We came for graduations and the hat/ metarboard was full of dust as we had to put it on the dressing table upon arrival. We then checked the side tables and found that they were also dusty. I was so disappointed but told myself we are only there for a night next time we'll find a better place
The reception was spotless with a good smell. The staff members were good and welcoming

The room was a bit smaller than the one shown on the pictures . The aircon is noisy i couldn't switch it on during the night as i couldn't sleep. There was no drinking water available for us, the only water available was the one in the bathroom of which i found it very uncomfortable using that water for drinking so i had to purchase my own water from the nearby stores. I was unable to use a shower because the valve used to open water for a shower could only release water when pressed, and when u leave it the water stops coming out. I actually failed to use a shower and i prefer a shower than a bath.
The staff was very friendly. The place was very clean and always smelling very good. The lift, was extremely comfortable even those with lift fobias would enjoy it. The place is peaceful at night i was able to sleep.

the safe in my room (107) was not working. the shower curtains are too short therefore Water slashes on the floor while showering. there was an event and priority for parking should have been given to guests… the party people should have parked at the overflow parking…

The standard of the food needs to be improved. The location was not great but there was parking which really helped.
The service and attitude of the staff was exceptional.
