Very nice hosts who are also super helpful. Beautiful garden and we loved sitting by the fire bowl in the evening. We felt very comfortable and extended our stay. One of the most relaxing places we have stayed at on our two month trip. Thank you Maputaland 😊

The room was comfortable, clean, welcoming. The swimming pool and the garden, a little corner of paradise. Furthermore, the kindness and availability of Jorge and his family are unique: they always have advice to give you for every need, even before arrival. It was an unforgettable stay!

Jorg and Gisela do a fantastic job in making their guests feel relaxed and at home. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean with good working aircon. Our kids loved the swimming pool. We were amazed by the breakfast they served.

Owner was very welcoming and helped us a lot in sorting our time there and ensuring it was as stress free as possible. He really helped us have the best experience possible. Facilities were clean and welcoming.

The combination of load shedding from 7 to 9 on the evening we arrived, planned shutdown from 4 am to 7 pm the next day, and no WiFi even after all this until we left the next morning, was bad, but not the guesthouse's fault.

Unusually for South Africa, the full english breakfast included cooked tomatoes and mushrooms. We were also offered a packed breakfast if we wanted to leave very early.

We've had the most amazing stay in St. Lucia. When we first arrived, Jorg sat us down and told us everything we needed to know about the town: activities, restaurants, dangers and more. During our stay he was very very helpful and super kind. His family is also very nice and his daughter is very polite. The rooms were nice and clean, the breakfast was good with different kinds of cheese, cold meat, bacon, eggs, jelly/honey etc and fruit salad. I'd definitely stay again!!

The only slight negative is that parking is in front of the guest house, a little congested, and not in a secure enclosure, but that is merely incidental.

Open and airy Maputaland Guest House is thankfully located on a serene, quiet street away from the hustle and bustle, traffic and noise of Mackenzie St., a few minutes away. German-born Gisela is a 30-year resident of St. Lucia, so knows the lay of the land in detail, and was a most gracious and helpful hostess during our two-day stay. A real bonus was the ability to have our laundry done the same day while we were out and about. The open-air full English breakfast and coffee was excellent. I have stayed elsewhere in St. Lucia on three previous occasions, and I would definitely return to Maputaland Guest House again!
