Good Position but some things need attention

Staff were unenthusiastic in their welcome. Lack of attention to detail eg shower door was not clean, only one coffee cup supplied (when 2 people were booked in the room. The lounge was a shambles with old lamps stored on the billiard table and the rest of the area being used as storage. Mattresses stored in the passageway. Outside areas not swept.

Position in the winelends is ideal for visiting attraction in the area. Quiet and rural. Very good bed. Great breakfast. Lovely library.

I found it too dark for my liking.Even with doors open it was not light.I was in Bush Cottage. The other cottages looked sunny and nicer than this unit.

Lovely property.I think my suite was a bit dark and not one of the nicer ones on the property. It was very clean and had what was needed.Very comfy bed.

we stayed 2 nights and nobody ever took the trash out; breakfast only had a choice of eggs, cereals, bread and jam; it’s a self-catering accommodation, so there’s no food available, you have to order from outside or go out to eat, which is quite inconvenient; No facilities for children, I wish there was a playground. I believe that for the amount we paid they could have offered more than just a place to sleep and walk in the nature.

the room we got was spacious; staff was friendly, the area was green and nice, and my daughter loved the dogs.

I didn’t check properly so my mistake but while it was super hot the days we‘ve been there the missing of AC was pretty tough at night, same goes for the rather small beds

Super nice staff, great estate and everything was clean! The garden is super nice and well taken care of, Thanks to Peter and team for the stay!

A deep clean of some areas in the cottage is needed, taps, tiles, carpets, blankets had hair on them, maybe dog hair. A shady parking spot for car under the tree would be great. Pool pump ran continuously and electricity was unstable but generator kicked in so no inconvenience. Surprised that it's cheaper to book on booking.com than directly with the property

Breakfast was great, excellent service, friendly staff.

The fact that we only decided to stay for one night.

The place itself is quite nice - hospitality, not so much! not the warmest or friendliest of welcomes. We stayed at the manor house which was not that great - the furniture in the lobby smelled of the pet dogs and the dogs and staff were quite noisy in the morning which causes a disturbance when sleeping. There was no drinking/bottled water available in the room - there is a nespresso machine in the room which is pointless if the coffee pods are not provided or there is no communication beforehand to at least bring your own coffee pods, so that was a waste. Overall not impressed which is very unfortunate because the property is really beautiful and the experience could have been significantly more pleasant. Did not find this worth the price - disappointing.

    Nothing

Marshen Estate is an absolute gem of a place. Driving into the estate you are taken away on an adventure. A lovely dam, a few springboks is what you see on your way to the guesthouse , peace and quiet is what you will find. There are big beautiful trees, the guest house we stayed in looked like a charming England Cottage. Staff are friendly, dedicated and the breakfast was delicious. The rooms are very clean, beautifully decorated and spacious. There is a big swimming pool, koi pond and a big garden. A venue of choice if you want a world class accommodation experience.

We loved it, Caryl was a terrific host, a very comfortable room and everything was very clean. No issues regarding load-shedding due to their solutions for keeping the power up. Breakfast was great and located on the gorgeous estate. We would definitely come back when visiting Stellenbosch again.
