We enjoyed the quaint little house (hartebeeshuisie). It was filled with peacefullnes, neatly equipped and out in the veld. If you want to listen to the silence of the night, watching the stars, smell karoo bush, enjoy "braaivleis" and an outdoor (warm) shower ... this is the place to stay over!

Loved the remoteness of the Stone Cottage. One shouldn’t have any preconceived ideas before arriving at the cottage. We just loved the old doors and windows. Amazing hiking trails as well. Loved the open air bath and shower as there is nobody anywhere near. Just you, your partner and the beautiful nature surrounding you. Well worth the rather steep access road.

Veranda and braai area is not private from other guests. A fenced in yard would be ideal and safer for pet's especially if neighbours are not fond of dogs. We will definitely be back regardless. Thank you for being pet friendly!

Amazing location and lovely finishes inside, the soundproofing is great between the Chalets. The mountains are breathtaking, felt safe and secure and wished we stayed longer. We had our 2 dogs with us and were able to explore the beautiful farm, big bonus. Very close to Meiringspoort Waterfall and the town De Rust. The Owner is friendly and there is wood available to purchase.

Braai facilities were provided but we were not self catering and needed a recommendation on somewhere to have supper. The info manual did not have any recommendations for De Rust. A curtain or blind to cover the glass front door would have provided some privacy.

Position in the mountains. Beautiful verandah to relax on. Air con. Big bathroom. Big bed.

Nothing we didn't love. We had a great time!

Everything. Great views. Very private. Lots of entertainment nearby. Lots of animals to see. We did the hike which wasn't too long for our dogs and then we dipped in the dam afterwards. Extremely peaceful. You do need a high clearance vehicle to get there which the owners do specify. We drove in a Cherry Tigo which ain't a 4x4 but got up the road perfectly fine.

Bed linen reminded me of boarding school 😉. Crisp white linen would elevate this to another level.

Great location and well equipped chalet. The place is so tranquil. Was really a wonderful place to spend the evening after a day on the road.

I didn't like leaving for my next destination, the stay at Meijer's Rust was pure perfection.

Easy to find. Safe space to park, close to the room. Tranquil farm setting, stunning views during the day and stargazing at night. Owner was friendly and helpful.

Barry is one of the best hosts you will ever meet, he was such an interesting man . The location offers something for all tastes ,if you like to get away ,have privacy and be in nature the old lodge is great, and has stunning views. Or if you want to indulge in some luxury one of the chalets would also be recommended. We loved our stay here and would definitely go back.

For the adventurer at heart. You are truly secluded and get the chance to feel a bit like a shepherd staying in the mountains (with a lot more comfort). The hiking trails were really nice and the area is absolutely beautiful.
