We extended our stay by 1 night & as the result tea stuff, toilet roll & bathing stuff were not refilled.

The room I was placed was probably the worst they had in the premises. Not worth the amount I paid for it. It was too small. Could barely open the drawer that’s next to the bed. The shower door came off the hinge while opening it. One of the towels was dirty. Struggled to get an iron which almost made me late to my appointment. There was a lot that wasn’t right about my room. Wouldn’t book again.

The main lady in charge was not friendly, in fact she came off as slightly intimidating. The breakfast portion was good on the first day and then decreased every day after. The rooms could have been cleaner.

The location was near the parkview squash centre as well as the shops nearby, which was convenient. The rooms had a nice outdoor seating area. The heaters worked well and the room was comfortable. There was a desk and some seating options in the room.

The cat that lives on the premises is an absolute RASCAL, and can and will get into your room. Imagine fumbling around in the pitch-blackness during load-shedding when an Entity Unknown leaps at you from a tabletop--a regular concern at the Turret. Breakfast stated to be served 7:30-9:00 but is really 7:45-8:15. Checkout stated to be 10:00 but is really 9:00. Refrigerator and microwave in room were non-functional.

Quite nice common areas, with large outdoor sofas and stone chairs to sit on outside. Two block walk from 7th Street, the center of Melville nightlife. Safe and secure. Well-made breakfasts. Wifi still mostly functional during load-shedding.

Small pokey cold room. TV didn't work. Waited outside for a long time to be helped. The manager seemed put out more often than not.

The bed was comfortable. The coffee was good.

Insufficient or no coffee in the rooms, hot water took to long to heat up and or no hot water at all in the one room. Previously, we absolutely enjoyed our stay hence the rebooking. Now, unfortunately we will book for something else.

1. Parking has to be re-arranged for early exit. Please get extra remotes for to accomodate all guests. i had to open for the other guests. at night, i will not be safe to go and call reception to open for others. Besides, the reception lady is unfriendly. 2. The host lady is not welcoming. Not good for your business. 3. The sheets had blood stains. I can send you photos i took on arrival.

I didn't like my first room. Ws disappointed because i had ordered a garden room. My room was changed. Felt better. Piska the housekeeper was really great about it. I would definitely return for a short stay.

Management was unprofessional and confrontational which was very disappointing given the high standard of guesthouse. Managements lack of interest in familiarizing them selves with my booking with booking.com lead to a number of issues which could and should have avoided many issues that followed. First off, I recieved a call early in the evening from the manager asking what time we intended to arrive. I advised I had indicated the time on my booking on the booking.com app which happend to be their normal reception hours. I was advised during the call that she had forgotten to check the booking with booking.com before making the call. So on this it's own is realy no problem but as it turned out, this was just the start of many problems that followed. On arrival I asked for secured parking and management appeared to be frustrated and irritated with the request all thou that too was requested in my orginal booking with booking.com. At reception the first question asked by management was whether we had paid. I advised them to check the booking with booking.com if she was unsure, however I felt my integrity was being questioned and at no time did she let me off the hook but instead begrudgingly collect the keys for our room. Then to my shock, the room we were offered wasn't the room I had booked for. I was advised that she (the manager) had decided to make the change because of the bedding arrangements. I queried the decision by suggesting that I would have liked to have been part of that decision. Which did not go down well. Unfortunately for the second time I was left fealing like a pariaher as she whent to collect the keys for the correct room. As mentioned above, the accommodation was fabulous but providing instant coffee in the room would have been great. In the morning we decided to take advantage of the benefit of breakfast which was offered in our original booking with booking.com.

The Guesthouse was out standing. The room was spacious clean and comfortable. The Guesthouse was charming and well appointed.
