We liked everything

We were really pleased with our stay at the Oakvlei Farm house. Extremely clean room. We loved the contemporary design, modern and with all the facilities needed. It is ideally situated for visiting the many sights in and around Mooi river. The staff are very good, were very friendly and helpful. Thanks Carol for your love and hospitality. God bless you!

I enjoyed my stay here thoroughly and I don't have anything to report back on!

I loved everything from the welcome to the homemade rusks to the farm fresh milk to the helpful directions for walks with my dogs. There was a generator which was super helpful too.

The sunrise was beautiful every morning. The fireplaces both in the lounge and in the main bedroom was lovely as we went at a very cold time. The farm fresh milk was a huge spoil and everything was so peaceful and tranquil. The kitchen was very well equipped for all catering purposes.

My family stayed 4 nights at the cottage. It was warm, inviting, and cozy. We loved everything about, from the staff that made sure we had a ready-to-light fireplace everyday when the weather started to change, to the beautiful scenery every morning waking up to a view of the cows in the pastures.

It was beyond exquisite!! The owners and staff and friendly doggies and exceptionally beautiful and clean and orderly interiors were designed in a way befitting for Kings and Queens, just up our ally, a real treasure!! A blessing of note! Thank you!!

The generator didn't kick in last night, leaving us without power for about 8 hours. This is something tolerable though. The roads to the fishing dams are a bit difficult if you don't have a 4x4.

Possibly the best kept secret of the Midlands. We stayed at Oakvlei Farm House, which has been beautifully restored. It is stocked with every possibly appliance (only a coffer-maker could be added), with linen, towels etc being of the highest quality. The fridge was filled with around 7 litres of farm fresh milk, the coffee station is stocked with an array of drinks and snacks. The two fireplaces are re-stocked with wood daily, 20 litres of drinking water provided, plus water in each room. There is a generator which allows you to forget that the country is being decimated by load-shedding at the moment. The yard is huge and peaceful. It was freezing, but the heaters, heating blankets and fireplaces made it possible to enjoy the Midlands inspite of the cold. Plus Carol took us for a really informative tour of the dairy. You would pay much more for much less elsewhere.

The generator was on the fritz during our stay so was abit uncomfortable during loadshedding

What an exceptional experience. Our host took us on a private tour.of her dairy farm and explained everything to my kids so patiently. She let us pet and feed the horses and let us look at the calves. We witnessed calves being born on the field! The house was huge and so gorgeous. Was a wee bit cold tho but it was dead of Winter
