It was cold at night and I was paranoid about finding rats. The hot water took too long to kick in

Expected a quiet bush getaway with animal noises at night, however it is located close to a township and party music could be heard well into the early hours of the morning.

The roads to the facility are not good.

The staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating. The highlight for me were the game drives with Billy. I developed a new found love and appreciation for all wildlife during the drives.

The water pressure was very low so we couldn’t shower nor bath properly. Also there’s a local community nearby therefore during the night all you hear is loud music.

I loved the food, breakfast and dinner. It was very delicious and we didn’t have to pay extra, it was included in the booking

The place is secluded. It gives you ample time to relax and disconnect from the outside world and busy life. The host and staff were very friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed the dinner around the fire and over-stars. The last night on stay got to have dinner outside our tent. Billy is a great host and has a lot to share about the town and also enjoyed his tour where we learned a lot about the big five and also other animals.

The lodge was not easy accessible at all, more than 2 hours drive on 40km , unbearable road conditions. The tents are not fully equipped with no fridge/freezer we were unable to store or food the lodge only have a small freezer available but already full. Not self catering but not a real restaurant also. The bathroom had a horrible smell and the lights died and we were left in the dark for the night. The dinner was just beef stew and sump with tasteless gem squish soup for a starter. The gate is within distance but considering the road conditions the drive there is roughly 2.5 hours. We arrived during unwelcoming weather off coarse no fault of the lodge but there are not really any amenities available for rainy weather , im sure in dry conditions it would be much lovelier. In my opinion a little overpriced

The tents are very old. Beds are not up to standard. On their information page, they have overstated things that are not in the tent. For example, it says there is a fridge and dining cam be dine in a tent. The pictures indicate so as well, but it is not the case. Eating at the tents is discouraged.

Lloyd is a very uninterested manager/chef (but kept hiding behind non existent management - There was no visible management on site). Our welcome was so nonchalant The food portions were small and unfilling even the children went bed hungry with no other options if you wanted more food. Some food was recycled the next day to force us to finish. Drinks were overpriced. Had multiple people sharing a hot flat 2L cold drink for R25 a glass. Wine was hot, ice melted fast and we were not allowed to bring our own drinks. Four cousins sweet wine, one of the cheapest around was charged R300 a bottle. There was no desert for new years and 1 small scoop of ice cream the one night. Roads were treacherous, 1 hour on the road is 2 hours. Game drive is over priced and Kruger is far, don't be fooled by the pictures. They do not facilitate any activities, nor do they have direct access to the park. There was absolutely no entertainment organized for new years. After we did our own thing only then did they offer things. Breakfast was slow, dinner was late. Pest control withing the tents was not good. Mattresses were old and brown, springs were on bed were poking at your back. Rats entered room through holes in the ceiling and was eventually covered with a plastic bag after multiple requests. Bathroom smelt of mold, mats in shower were black and old. Holes in the sheets, with dirty sheets

The government road leading up to the road isn't great, go slowly as there are many potholes. However my Mercedes GLC made it just fine and I considered it part of the adventure.

What an incredible stay! I felt like I was transported into the middle of Botswana! The staff met ally expectations and more! They even washed a jacket for me when I asked. I went on a Tues and was the only guest yet they still pulled out all the stops, the meals were incredible (so much delicious food). I did the cultural village tour which was fantastic and a 4 hour game drive which I highly recommend. You stay in lovely luxury tents and the staff ensure your tent is closed even when you forget to close it. It was such a lovely break from the city and if your aim is to relax and get away from it all then this is the place .
