How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Rooms were a bit small and we didn't get any shower gel or soap. Didn't get milk on day 2. Not the best views. But perfect for a weekend stay in the city.
The location was perfect for the Two Oceans. 400 m from the start. Well situated and close to everything.

I would have liked to have a bar fridge in the room.
Great convenient location if taking part in the Two Oceans Marathon. It was literally a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The complimentary coffee and banana the morning of the race was a nice touch.

Security into the hotel is a bit of a concern. Our friends were able to access their rooms via the parking without having to tag on, therefore anyone could access the building without an access card
Clean and modern rooms. Close enough to shops and restaurants to be able to walk. There is a self-catering area with ovens, microwaves, airfryers, fridges and freezers that was very convenient!

the restaurant I think is a little pricy for what you get, but very nice.

Location was perfect for our stay. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The cafe had great breakfast with freshly made bread. Additional shops were also within walking distance so I definitely recommend this place. Next time I'll use the gym and pool.

As already experienced during an earlier stay, the set-up of the showers results in water spilling into the whole bathroom; either sink hole is too small or gradient not appropriate or shower head not suitable. Should be looked at. Not providing any body soap or shampoo is unusual for a property with 4 stars and at this price bracket. The TV is enthusiastically marketed as a "smart TV" on which you can log on to your own Netflix etc account. However, if you don't have one, you won't be watching any TV :-(
Very friendly staff. Great initiative to treat Comrades marathon runners to bananas and coffee very early morning pre-race and even more so to make one room available where we could shower post-race, despite the fact that we had checked out early morning

Better quality of pillows, also the hand shower is our bathroom was faulty. When you shower that whole bathroom floor get wet.

My bed sheets didn’t smell clean .. maybe the detergent they use, but they didn’t seem fresh!
The staff were wonderful ❤️! When we arrived, Alex was standing outside the hotel entrance. He showed us where to park, he then walked down into the car park to show us how to get to reception… outstanding! The check-in staff were great, friendly and lovely. The staff in the restaurant were also very happy to help, the whole atmosphere there was lovely !

Although it was in the middle of the busy city, the room was extremely soundproof and we could not hear a sound coming from outside. The modern interior was beautiful and sophisticated. The bed and bedding was very comfortable. The use of the public kitchen was an extra bonus.

The hotel needs some TLC- mainly some maintenance and minor repairs required. Reported that the sink in the room was blocked on arrival and was asked to get under the sink and see if I can fix it.
Good location and value for money. Also have a nice cafe inside with great coffee.

Our card would work and then stop working randomly. The room was small.
