The hotel needs a make over both inside and outside. I booked Oct 2020 and recently booked again hoping things have improved but no, the place is still unhygienic. From the room itself to the frigde, the towels, OMG the bathroom! It’s way below a hotel standard. It’s not worth the money, including their breakfast.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON THIS HOTEL. I wished I had read the reviews before booking. I won't complain about the terrible roads (potholes) or mosquitoes as those are things out of the hotels control however, there are things within their control. Firstly we were given the wrong room, it smelt mouldy and had a broken shower, the manager tried convincing us that she upgraded our room to an ocean view and that the water still works in the shower, it's all nonsense. The manager seems to have an excuse for everything. Secondly the bar is not stocked up at all, you might as well bring your own cooler box of drinks n snacks you like. We only had a choice of two cooldrinks and waiters seemed disinterested as there's really not much they can do about the situation, food is very average. After complaining about our room as the pictures didn't match what we booked she moved us into a new room which was dirty. It had marks all over the floor, walls, cupboards and curtains. Their hygiene standards are definitely not on par. We booked 3 nights and chose to leave in less than 24hour. ITS NOT WORTH IT! When checking out they didn't even bother asking why we were leaving early, customer service is definitely not a priority. The hotel refused to cooperate with booking.com when an investigation took place, they will not acknowledge any fault or take responsibility. The beach is the only good thing about this accommodation.

The dinner was a typical buffet dinner and not bad. Mosquito's were a huge bother.

The location was wonderful. The beach was in a small bay of it's own and very private. The room was very clean and neat, just like the pictures. The staff were super accommodating changing our dates.

Property facilities are beyond bad. It is old, rusted, leaking water and flooding in the room. Property is not well looked after and it is a waste of money.

The hotel is located in a perfect location and worth the trip to Coffee Bay. The pictures on the website for Ocean View Hotel was deceiving in that the actual Hotel was really not up to standard in terms of service and maintenance.. For the amount of money we paid it was really not OK. The bar had no stock The staff were not apologetic The food was poor The lights in our room did not work The shower door was missing The coffee machine wasn't working The beach bar was closed The pool area was neglected We really hope that you take this feedback seriously as there is alot of potential at the hotel especially compared to the other accommodation spots in coffee bay. We also suggest doing some activities like themes dinners and horse riding a d a petting zoo or games room or something to keep guests entertained Thank you

The road leading up to coffee bay are very terrible, but once new roads are complete access to this hidden gem will be much better.

Nothing. If you want to go to the whole on the wall. Drive there in the morning and drive back to Umthatha. It is a beautiful place but not the accommodation around

Rubbish, rubble, unfinished thatching, broken glass panels,rickety staircase, stompies in pot plants, missing pebbles in paving, and general lack of maintenance - sad things to see. Outside furniture filthy as was the mattress protector. Dining area smells of old oil. These are small things that, if remedied, would give a better overall impression. Wine glass with price sticker still on... rather off putting! With the existing infrastructure and setting, this could be a world-class hotel. Just a little bit of TLC and awareness
