How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. The soap in the kitchen is too small if you have to be cooking and cleaning up. soap in the bathroom is not there, only a very small not sure if its a shampoo or body wash. that is sub standard. you need a soap by the sink for washing hands and a shampoo and body wash in the shower. the floors were not cleaned until we left bins not emptied till we left, including the she bin..imagine when on your period it filled up and... the towels are not changed!!. they just pack back the dirty ones which was very unhygienic the pots are not enough and too small for cooking. they also need stainless steel pots which wont rust. the one we found were old and rusty. they have to do something on the noise. you can literally hear whats happening in the other room and travelling with kids it was embarrassing listening to what couples were doing in their private room. maybe the placement of families and couples should be considered.
The rooms are spacious, comfortable bed... Clealiness is the issue. the pots were not clean but packed in the cupboard. even after the first night, the cleaners come and wash the dishes quickly but they wont be clean!!! especially the pots.

Neighbours smoking weed and smell was getting into the rooms. Beds were not comfortable. Headboards were quite dusty that really triggered our sinuses.

There was no soaps or anything of the sorts for washing hands and for the shower The pressure in the shower was a bit low

A minor problem was that the washing machine did not work in the apartment I stayed and also that even though dishwashing liquid was provided, there was no sponge provided
The apartment is nice sized and very well maintained, Also very central and near to the Sandton hub

Their dishes aren’t clean we had to wash some to utilise and others we just left as is . It ruins the appetite seeing dirty dishes .There’s no dish cloth provided i dont know how we are supposed to wipe tables and dishes without a cloth . They only provide a sponge with sunlight .

Half an hour after check in,the cleaning lady came knocking and to find she was doing laundry from the apartment I was staying at and there we no soaps or anything in the apartment to wash up,only towels and tissue

TV channels are very limited. A smart TV would be better. And one bed was terrible. Very noisy and not firm.

The waiting period for the deposit to be refunded back into my bank account, my suggestion is to pay with cash that way you receive it when you check out.
Everything about the place that was prefect and everything shared was to my expectation and love how close the accommodation is to the morningside mall and to all the public transport (bus)and private (uber). It made my first ultra weekend memorable, affordable and convenient

the fact that even though you paid for the studio/apartment, you are also required to pay a refundable deposit starting from R500 (depending on the space you booked for) once you arrive at reception for the key

THERE IS NO COMPLEMENTARY TEAS AND COFFEES AND TOWELS. THE HOTEL IS NOT WILLING TO GIVE COMPLEMETARY COFFEE AND TEAS WHEN REQUESTED.
THE LOCATION IS FINE AND THE ROOM CLEANLINESS WAS GREAT. THE ACCESS WAS EASY TO GET TO THE PROPERTY AND THE PORTERS WERE STAND BY TO ASSIST WITH LUGGAGE.
