We had thought we'd be ok to walk 20 minutes to our restaurant, given it's central location and plenty of nice bars and restaurants nearby. However upon turning onto Long Street (a minute from the hotel) we were accosted by a very persistent homeless man wearing nothing but a blanket and had no choice but to go into a shop with him to buy him food. When we turned back to the hotel we were offered cocaine and it generally felt very unsafe. This all happened during daylight. We got Ubers everywhere after that, which were very cheap and easy (£2.50 GBP for the equivalent of a 20-25 minute walk) but we had chosen this hotel under the impression that we'd be in a safe area, and it was disappointing not being able to walk around freely. I'd also recommend taking ear plugs as it's very noisy in the room at night. The windows are old, which is all part of the building's charm, but it does help to have these to get to sleep and not be woken up by the loud city noises throughout the night.

Lovely staff. Very helpful. Room was very comfortable with high ceilings and a powerful shower. The bar prices were reasonable, even with Hendricks in my G&T.

The stay was amazing as always. They have the most amazing rooms which are large in size and are very clean. The staff is always welcoming and make to feel like am coming back home instead of a hotel. I have stayed at this hotel more than 5 times this year. Would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone.

The wind was too much so one window kept making some noise on the last day, other than that, I would always stay at this hotel.

It's in the middle of town, which is great - but I also booked for a Friday night - so it wasn't exactly quiet. The noise from the various nightclubs can be heard/felt. This isn't a negative about the hotel - it's something to just take into consideration.

Our room was great. The staff was very friendly and attentive, make us feel safe. They replied all request in a timely manner. We stayed in the hotel on our second stay in Cape Town and were upgraded.

Would like a long full length mirror. Breakfast was average - precooked & stored in containers - not worth R200 in my view.

Excellent location. Literally at the heart of Cape Town and so many restaurants near by. The neighborhood can be a little daunting at night but we went everywhere mostly by Uber. The staff went above and beyond for us. We had an issue with the AC and they were so receptive and quickly moved us to a new room. The rooms were spacious and clean. Beds were comfortable and the showers were great. Loved our stay!
