Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

United KingdomWe had thought we'd be ok to walk 20 minutes to our restaurant, given it's central location and plenty of nice bars and restaurants nearby. However upon turning onto Long Street (a minute from the hotel) we were accosted by a very persistent homeless man wearing nothing but a blanket and had no choice but to go into a shop with him to buy him food. When we turned back to the hotel we were offered cocaine and it generally felt very unsafe. This all happened during daylight. We got Ubers everywhere after that, which were very cheap and easy (£2.50 GBP for the equivalent of a 20-25 minute walk) but we had chosen this hotel under the impression that we'd be in a safe area, and it was disappointing not being able to walk around freely. I'd also recommend taking ear plugs as it's very noisy in the room at night. The windows are old, which is all part of the building's charm, but it does help to have these to get to sleep and not be woken up by the loud city noises throughout the night.
Lovely staff. Very helpful. Room was very comfortable with high ceilings and a powerful shower. The bar prices were reasonable, even with Hendricks in my G&T.

South AfricaIt's in the middle of town, which is great - but I also booked for a Friday night - so it wasn't exactly quiet. The noise from the various nightclubs can be heard/felt. This isn't a negative about the hotel - it's something to just take into consideration.
Great staff. Great location. Great rooms. Really positive "shock" factor from outside to inside. Fantastic decor and upgrade.

Excellent location. Literally at the heart of Cape Town and so many restaurants near by. The neighborhood can be a little daunting at night but we went everywhere mostly by Uber. The staff went above and beyond for us. We had an issue with the AC and they were so receptive and quickly moved us to a new room. The rooms were spacious and clean. Beds were comfortable and the showers were great. Loved our stay!
