access to the accommodation, the walk is great but I would recommmend including a quad bike in the rental to get to and from accommodation for guests who dont have 4x4 transport

The cost of things - the price for the tented camp and units in general are very expensive. The price for some of the activities are just not justified.

The breakfast was excellent and the tented camp was excellent. We loved the restaurant and the play area for the kids, especially the service of keeping the kids busy when we had our meals.

Wifi is terrible and there is no cell phone reception which is good if you want kids off their screens but bad for everything else.

Beautiful location in the mountains surrounded by apple orchards. Very basic but tasteful accommodation with magnificent views. All the food was decent but don't expect gourmet or anything amazing. Overall we really loved this place and would definately go again.

Our only not so nice experience was the activities on offer - we bought free passes for us and the kids. Most of the activities were unmanned (archery) or not available (zorbing). We didn't really feel that we got what we paid for, next time I would rather just pay for something that I have booked in advance, than go for an all access pass.

Not our first stay at Old Mac Daddy - My wife and I have previously "run away" from our home in Grabouw to have a romantic break away at Daddy's Hide Away, a mid week beak in Birdie, the Airstream and for a birthday break away in December at Daddys Den. We Loved all three and this year we will be back again for some relaxation and chill time As always, the staff feels like family, our accommodation was clean and we had everything that we needed. Breakfast (included in the booking) was simply lovely and the view from Daddy's Den in the day and evening is spectacular! Even on a scorching Overberg day, our tented campsite felt cool For us, OMD is home away from home we love you guys!

Needing a bit of maintenance and a touch up after running for a few years. All the hallmarks of a magic destination but the pricing means guests expect top class. The staff and location is incredible but infrastructure is needing a bit of extra love and cleaning.

We loved our stay such a fantastic holiday but there were certain areas that lacked attention to detail. We don’t want to be over critical but we love the place and we care but here are a few Cleanliness - not tidying up in the main communal areas, eg: cigarette butts in kids area in the barn, dirty tables by the table tennis, beach bar just so untidy Zen Spa - I had a beautiful massage and afterwards no water was offered and when I looked in the room there was a jug which was empty with 2 glasses so just missing that touch

The beds in the airstreams were not that comfortable.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, it was 4 days of bliss and relaxation! The children were free to roam and make friends in a very open environment with so many things to keep them busy. The views from the balconies were beautiful and made you feel like you were one with nature. The 'beach' was a hit, from fishing to kayaking, to lazing in the sun with a cocktail. Every item we ordered from the menu at the restaurant was superb. Quad biking in the mountains was another great experience.

The breakfast could have included some healthier options. Some fresh fruits and variety would have been preferred.

The hotel staff were very friendly and the views are great. Some of the trailers have a better configuration than others but they were flexible and supported us in choosing ones that we liked (view and decor). Enjoyed our stay here - a great location for children as there are lots of activities.

Superfriendly, helpful, cosy,…! They really made the best of the whole place! Such choice of activities, and still growing. Massive respect to the staff, how they rebuilt the place after suffering damage during a major storm last month. You almost cant see any remaining damage. What a team!

The wifi was intermittent, mostly during loadshedding. There is scope to add alternative power solutions to ensure it remains stable throughout the day.

There were more rooms and beds available than expected which was a bonus for my group. Breakfast options were great. A very beautiful and tranquil environment.

The bed had a footpost and my husband is tall, he wasn't very comfortable with the footpost at his feet the entire night. But not unbearable.

The Barn's supper was absolutely out of this world delicious. The Units are more than we expected, very spacious and interesting. We loved the beach by the dam and all the comfortable seating. Lovely

The locks in both our units were not working. It seems a bit of maintenance might be required.

Location is magical. Idea is beautiful and wonderful for people with youngish kids. Staff are in credible, friendly, helpful and just generally a pleasure.

This was the perfect mid-week breakaway. The staff was very friendly and helpful and made us feel at home. The accommodation was beautiful, comfortable and spotlessly clean. We would definitely go back. Wish we could have stayrd another night. 1 night is not enough to enjoy the full experience.

I would like them to invest in heated pool or hot tub, this will keep me coming and booking stays at OMD all year round :)

We stay quite regularly at OMD, at least 3 times a year and visit them at least an additional 5 times a year as a day visitor. SO not sure what more to add i have mentioned this in previous reviews, really great place.
