Breakfast, really basic options, Not like it used to before. I did not feel like our stay was relaxing or rejuvenating.

we were in danny's den. family of 4. Double bed completely lopsided, so i rolled onto my husband the whole night. 2nd night we tried swopping with our children, no-one slept. Breakfast showed no effort, not like our stays before. Wont be rushing back, even though we have always loved our stays at OldMD.

The beds are hard and the main pool is cold so we couldn't swim due to the weather being cloudy, windy and cold. The hot tub was lukewarm and the smoke was blowing everywhere but we enjoyed the experience nonetheless.

The staff are very friendly and accomodative. ALL the staff are always smiling and willing to assist and this was on Christmas day. The trailers were clean and I loved the coffee machine. The kids enjoyed the activities e.g. archery, kayaking, table tennis, etc. and everything was in walking distance. We loved the nature and scenery and the hot tub.Very safe and the kids could go to the restaurant on their own. We stayed in Metalmorphosis and is one of the furthest trailers and I won't recommend this to people with any knee or ankle injuries or for the elderly. Thank you to the receptionist that allowed us to checkin early and was really such a gem to all the kitchen staff, the guy who assisted with the hot tub to the porter who helped us with our luggage. The staff made our stay one of many more to come.

I loved Old Mac Daddy's location, retro Trailers and wood fried hottub which was hot on arrival. The Staff were so friendly and sharp.

There was no power in our trailer from 4am and no one to help us. I discovered this after stumbling around in the dark at 6am. No hot water in time for check out so we couldn't shower. Facilities are extremely basic. Not even hand soap to wash our hands.

The decor is pretty neat.

Not really suited for kids. Little to do to entertain young kids, as a result we won’t be returning.

We could have used more towels but this really isn’t a major issue. I know if we asked for more we would have gotten but we only remembered when we needed them.

We visited on the coldest weekend this year, the house was toasty warm on arrival with a fire in the main living space and the heaters in the room. The view was spectacular, the food and beverage options were plenty and delicious!

Love Cake

We stayed in Love Cake the first night. The camper is old, very dusty and not in good condition. There is an awful smell and the door does not lock from the inside. We we moved to Dream the next morning and it was much more suitable.

The white lights in the in the cabin extension of the trailer was a bit clinical. All the bulbs should be warm white. The main entry door on the cabin of Give Bees a Chance from the porch is sticking and difficult to operate the lock. the glass hallway between the cabin expansions and the door or the trailer should have curtains/blinds for more privacy - particularly at night. The coffee machine water tank is very dirty.

The housekeeping could have been better as our room wasn’t cleaned very well and we tried calling reception for mosquito repellent with no luck.

The Old Mac Daddy feels like it has seen better days. Everything just seemed a little tired. We stayed in the School House and it was not well equipped for self catering accommodation - crucial things were missing like dish towels, sharp knives (there were no knives except one bread knife and butter knives, difficult to prepare food with no knives!), no hand towels provided, no hand soap at the basins, no dishwasher. We did request a dish towel from reception a few times but never received it. This brings me to the contingencies for load shedding - there is a gas stove and a generator that powers the lights only. No plug points work on the generator and neither does the wifi. This is a challenge considering there is no cellphone reception on the farm. Also, we had to search high and low for the matches to light the stove. We eventually found them but it would be helpful if they were stored next to the stove (or at the braai even!).

Staff were very friendly, the cottage we stayed in was spacious and the views were nice.

The fact that we couldn't quad bike and the music was played from YouTube with ads in between... (sometimes the guest would play they're own music, catering to what they like and not thinking of other guests... I suggest getting a Dj for happy hour at the beach

Staff was amazing... Myself and my partner, initially booked at Elgin River Lodge. When they cancelled we were very sad but now we're grateful it happen. Old daddy gave us a VIP treatment... A presidential one to be exact.

We loved every moment of our stay in the trailers. So serene and relaxing. Staff all friendly and helpful. Food was always delicious and filling. We intend going back at another time hopefully soon to the luxury glamping with family and friends ❤️

booking confirmed on app but arrived to find our hostess informing us that our stay was cancelled. apparently they tried to reach out through email but I believe they could have made more effort. Booking.com still thinks we stayed here so I don’t understand how they could say it was cancelled. had to scramble for accommodation around town. First time I’ve had a booking problem errors through Booking.com and suspects problem with establishment. Won’t be going back for second….
