The checking process was super smooth. The spa treatment was the best Sherilee is very good at what she does. The hosts we super friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend Otters Den for a great getaway

Location was superb. Rooms clean and bed very comfortable. For being in the same industry, I could not fault anything. Enjoyed our relaxing stay... My wife loved the bath with the view!!!

The bath towels were really small and appeared as if they had done their time. They definitely didn't shave the same luxuious feel as the very comfrontable duvet. Suggest that the hosts provide bath sheets as opposed to bath towels. Also too many ornaments to our liking which made the cottage appear cluttered and messy- sometimes less is more?

Location was great, despite the weather being inclement so we couldn't fully utilise the outdoor verandah. Little fire place was a winner as it allowed us to keep warm in the chilly weather.

I loved everything about the property. It is was we really wanted. Its clean, easy to be accessed, staff is very friendly, the guy who was to hand over the keys had to wait for us to check in as we were running extremely late and that on its own is good customer service.

The Property don't serve breakfast but the location was out of this world. The spar is not far from the property so if one need anything, is easy to get it there.

Everything about Otters Den was amazing .. from the layout of the chalet to the beautiful views to the amazing bath inside our room and comfort. We had a 30 minute intensive back massages in our chalet which were the best massages we have ever had and can HIGHLY recommend treating yourself during you stay.

I booked this stay for my Son and his wife as a break, they had a wonderful time and even decided to extend their 3 stay stay by a further 2 days. Hosts were excellent and special friendships made.

The hairdryer in the main room has a round 2-point plug, but there is no adapter that can accommodate it...

We absolutely loved all the cats and how well they are taken care of! Stan was a terrific host, and they made our honeymoon extra special with a beautifully made up room and gifts to remind us of our time there! He even gave us firewood to last 2 days!

The fireplace created a lot of smoke when we tried to make a fire.

We thoroughly enjoyed the spa bath and relaxing in it with a beautiful view. We loved having a walk along the river looking for otters. We enjoyed the friendly and loving cat Nola.

We had quite a swarm of fruit flies or ‘miggies’ in the kitchen area. It was a bit out of control but we just popped down the road to Spar for some Doom and sorted it out. You can’t control bugs so it didn’t make us any less excited to be there.

We would return to Otters Den in a heartbeat! The accommodation was clean and inviting and the location is peaceful. We unfortunately only stayed one night, but we both wished we had the chance to stay longer. We nipped down a lovely trail to the river in the morning before we left, and agreed that the next time we stay we’ll dedicate a whole day to just enjoying the area that the family have cleared and provided. It’s a homely cottage with wonderful views and just a fabulous place!

When asked for wheelchair friendly you would like to expect that, but the unit and the parking was not. Our host did however did her best toaccommodated and promised to improve wheelchair accessibility

The cottage was extremely cold. I was with my daughter & we were unable to start the fire, the only warm place was in bed with electric blanket. Not ideal to not have electric heaters in the middle of winter and then to be charged an additional R90 for wood (in fairness, owner did not charge us as we couldn't get fire going). Would also have liked to watch sport on DSTV but premium sports channel not available

We did not like the attitude of Shayne. To cut a log story short. When I booked, I booked a delux room which showed on booking.com to have a double bed in the bedroom, and a double sofa bed in the lounge. We have a family of 2 adults and 3 children. So the double sofa bed would have been perfect for our children. When I enquired with Otters Den to ensure the sofa bed was big enough, Shayne advised that there was no sofa bed and if we wanted beds for our children we would have to pay an extra R250 per bed per night! That was a mis selling of information. Booking.com also had a book now pay later option which we chose, and they immediately tried to take money out our account which then charged us bank charges as there was no money in there at the time of booking. When approaching Shayne with these issues, he said it was an issue with booking.com and they had to sort it out. He still would not budge about giving us beds for our children despite the false advertising on booking.com. he offered us a discount but would not honour what booking.com offered us. Upon arrival, he continued with his bad attitude with us, and told us that we should go find other accomodation. He was happy to turn away a tired family of 5 because he was too important to give us the benefit of the doubt. And then he proceeded to tell me I know nothing about running a business. He eventually let us have the beds at no cost, but that was after completely stressing us out and being disrespectful. So unfortunately, as nice as Otters den is, we will not go back there again due to his disgusting business skills and ways of handling customers.

The place itself was stunning. Absolutley beautiful. The house was clean and well laid out. There was alot of attention to detail and the bed was very comfortable.

Cottage a little smaller than expected and quite cluttered, no cover for sun on balcony and balcony furniture old.

Loved the view, absolutely stunning, could hear the river below. Owners were really friendly and helpful.
