.It clearly states FREE BREAKFAST! Never did we receive any breakfast. This is not a 4 star and started to read the previous reviews. They also denied my child access to the ordering food from the restaurant but yet they state that it a separate affair. The hot tub is never running and no wood. The spa is non existant. So what they advertise is really been dishonest.

We were hired to render a service for one week of an electrical engineer and we were offered to say in a single room, yesterday the owner refused to pay his bill and actually trying to fraudulently making proofs of payments to make as if he did pay. He made use of my vehicle to collect parts for all his machinery to be fixed etc to which I did as a favor and paid out of my pocket. We have gone to the police and we are Taking this matter further.. This is appalling and such disgusting behavior that people are capable of doing things like this.

The room was ice cold and the heater did not work because of a broken plug in the wall (leakage). We were forced to move out and find a restaurant. The restaurant on the property was closed. The lady showing us around was kind but on crutches and almost slipped a few times. She had no idea if the restaurant would open that day (while it's on the same property). It seemed as though the owners were not really expecting us. During the night, the parrots opposite our room were shouting and by the time we fell asleep their dogs started barking from 7:00 o'clock.

The location is beautiful and the farm could be absolutely gorgeous.

That the restaurant was closed during our visit for winter maintenance.

The ambiance was calm and welcomIng. It is as if time takes a break at the Oude Wellington. The stars come closer at night and your day is relaxed and easy. The St Barnard puppy was the cherry on the cake. He was a ball of fur-fun.

We had hoped to have a traditional meal at the on-site restaurant, but it did not open that weekend at all. It is run separately to the guest house, so given South Africas power supply issues, perhaps a generator would be the answer to offer service.

Lovely location with scenic outlook, yet few minutes from town centre and restaurants if needing anything. Pet friendly with plenty space to walk our little dog. The property has own dogs which was not a problem to us. Although our room was small, it was clean, comfortable and equipped with a small kitchenette which was useful as the on-site restaurant did not open due to loadshedding. Lovely breakfast served on Patio. It is an historic property and can be enjoyed as such.

People working there wears pajamas even in the afternoons. No sevice beyond 4pm. Overflowing shower drains, zero wi-fi. No coffee and tea in rooms, despite advertised, no assistance with their location, the gps coordinates takes one to an abandoned road with no assistance from the staff. The staff was very rude and not welcoming at all. Go anywhere else.

I specifically booked a place woth a jaquzi but this wasn't installed at the time besides advertised as such. People that work there knoked on my door continuesly during the stay, the place seemed run down and the restaurant was barely open. I orded a chicken dish but ate what i hope was beef?! Their payment facilities didn't work and the owners of the restaurant were beyond rude, turning the lights off at 9 pm which was strange and scary in the middle of winter. Every time the the neighbors bathed the shower in my room would overflow. The lights would flickered and the fridge barely worked. Internet acess was spotty at best. The gps link sends you to the wrong location with little to no help from the owners. Honestly I had a terrible stay with people who have no idea to work in the service industry

There are many parrots, budgies, cockatiels etc. in cages. The noise is disturbing during the early morning. The entire place has a rundown feeling, and the service ranged from indifferent to downright unfriendly. We were told, at 7:30pm, to "hurry-up" if we wanted to order food, and the restaurant manager behaved as though he were doing us an enormous favor by allowing us to sit down at a table (no tables were laid, and we were the only ones in the restaurant). The cooked breakfast was unbelievably poor: one sliced cherry tomato, two tiny rashers of bacon burnt to a crisp, and a tablespoon full of mushrooms. The buffet items seemed less than fresh. A disappointing stay.

Oude Wellington has great potential, but the surroundings and plumbing are not well maintained. Howerver, the rooms are clean and neat. There are a lot of bird cages, that seems not te be very hiegenic... and the birds are very noisy early in the morning The owner not very friendly, breakfast basic. Not sure how they got a 4 star rating?

The old buildings are lovely. Magaret was very helpfull with the booking.

Staff was extremely rude. Asian lady came to take order only offered what she wanted to make. She was rude and wouldn't take order placed. Two other ladies came to take the order waited more than an hour for the breakfast to arrive. A huge fight broke out in the kitchen, chef walked out. Owner came said she will be making the breakfast and warned that she hasn't cooked before. Eggs and bacon was burnt and breakfast was absolutely unpleasant. Rooms where lovely scenery was beautiful but customer service was absolutely disgusting and bedside manner was shocking. Owners were the only ones willing to help out and tried to make it right but staff needs a big wake up call. Stayed after our daughters wedding and definitely wouldn't recommend this accommodation to anyone.
