It's dusty but that's ok. Not enough duvet in case we wanted to sleep in different beds

Very different to usual, very old fashioned yet lively, we will book a few more nights when we go again

The two bunkbeds are very tall, wobble a bit (I wasn't worried about them falling over, but they felt slightly unstable) and had no side railings on the top bunk, so I would only let older children sleep on the top. Other than that what you see on the photos is what you get, and we were very happy with the accommodation!

We had a short, but very enjoyable stay at Aandster. The house was clean, had all the necessities for self catering and our host was communicative and very friendly. The fireplace was a lifesaver for the cold winter night, and there were electric blankets and heaters - what a bonus! There is a charming little garden too.

Can invest in better bath towels as bedding was good quality.

Loved the charming old house in small Karoo town. Everything was easy to find and the self catering equipment were more adequate. Did not miss a tv or wifi but some might.

the towels were hard and scratchy

The location was excellent. It was close to al the village amenities and the Owl House which was the reason for the visit.

The unassuming facade hides a large, comfortable, old-fashioned house with modern kitchen and hidde garden. The rooms are expansive and garden a refuge. Early morning saw me step put into the wide gravel roads of Nieu-Bethesda to explore. Within a block I encountered some free ranging horses foraging along the road. The labyrinth is nearby and a wonderful choice at that time of day. Katrin was friendly and very helpful with pointing out points of interests on a map and having offered to book us dinner before our arrival. Her office at the Owl House Backpackers is just round the corner in the main street and very accessible for keys and advice. Would love to return for a longer stay and to say hallo to the visiting cats again.

Nice house with garden at the back

Only 1 bathroom (includes the only toilet) for 4 of us sleeping in 2 bedrooms. Cat wanted to come in so we couldn't keep doors and windows open. Easy to carry luggage as the car can be parked right at the front door.

Quiet location close to the beautiful church
