Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandIf you want to stay specifically in or close to Paarl it’s excellent.
A very well-appointed room in a newly renovated farm boutique hotel. Set in a beautiful garden, and managed by excellent staff. The breakfast was amazing. Simple, but executed perfectly. Probably one of the tastiest I’ve ever had in a hotel. Loved our short stay.

GermanyNothing. But there could have been another baby chair at the restaurant, as we were not the only guests with small kids.
Adara Hotel is such a peaceful place. We spent 4 nights with our 2 kids (1/2year and 2 1/2y), who enjoyed the family rooms (mountain view room no. 7, including nice kitchenette with full bean coffee machine and even oat milk!). Everything was so clean and everybody was so friendly. As it was very hot, we stayed at the private pool two full days, which has been cleaned at least every morning. The kids loved the big areal, the squirrels and the birds as well as the sprinklers on the lawn. The restaurant was so good and the waiters helped us with our kids, when they were already done with eating. The wine is fantastic as well. I recommend the excellent Chenin blanc. The Pastery Chef did even bake a lovely birthday cake for my wife We made a trip to babylonstoren, which we definitely recommend (~20 min drive)

The best breakfast - eggs brialliantly cooked - as requested. Cerial, fruit, yoghurts, chees & s. salmon - all first class. Dinner excellent - oysters a favourite. All staff were great from the moment we arrived when they swapped our room to a downstairs room so we didn't have to negotiate stairs.

NetherlandsWe thought the food in the restaurant was a little average. Also the coffee at the restaurant/breakfast came from a machine and wasn’t the best, it would be a nice bonus if there would be actual barista coffee machine :-).
We loved everything about this hotel! This was the most gorgeous estate we’ve ever stayed at. Staff was wonderful too! We were very sad to leave after four days.

AustriaThe hand showerhead in our room (13) was so high up, that smaller persons (160cm or less) can hardly reach for it. The same goes for the amenities (showerr gel etc.)
Very nice under the trees. Small buffet, warm (egg) dishes made to order.

Franceif I had to be picky, the pool could be a little more taken care of but it wasn't a biggy at all
Everything was way above expectations! The place is stunning and really well maintained. Beautiful houses and gardens under magnificent trees. Breakfast and diners under the tree or on the terrace were delicious and the staff absolutely lovely made you feel at home. Little details of attention along the day, small capacity which makes it feel like you have privatised the place most of the time. Extremely relaxing and pleasant THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

United KingdomThe restaurant felt a little overwrought. Some elements of the room were overdesigned and therefore impractical, but not enough to really be a problem. You can hear cars on the motorway (faintly) from the swimming pool.
The setting is beautiful, and most of the staff were incredibly professional and helpful. The pool was great, and the wine from the vineyard was delicious (the Chenin Blanc).

We loved our stay at Adara! The property is beautiful, and everybody was amazing! We were able to arrange a massage in the room that they upgraded for our stay. We had access to our own pool. It was quiet, peaceful. The bed was so comfortable! Amenities and tv set ups all very modern. Decor is tasteful. The restaurant was also great, food was delicious, paired with local wine.
