On arrival the lady in the security booth was unfriendly and not very helpful. Nespresso machine broken, toilet seat in main bedroom was broken, oven didn't work, hair dryer didn't work. Private beach access would have been accurate if there wasn't a tree blocking the path (still quite a walk). Alternative path was a 2km walk to the beach.

Loved the apartment, location, amenities, feeling of security. Would 100% stay again 🌞

Safe, pool and playground for kids. Good communication with the rental lady. Underground/covered parking. Beachfront in the description is a bit misleading, it is a 20 minutes walk down the hill and 20 minutes up the hill when you want to get back.

Very tidy and lovely apartment equipped with everything you need.We had a great time the rooftop pools were the highlight for us.The communication was super easy with Deserea. the place looks exactly like it does on the pictures. The apartment is very conveniently located near malls should you wish to shop or dine out.

Huge disappointment that one was not able to braai on the lovely veranda!! The communal braai facilities on the roof were not to our liking! Would have been nice to have second set of bathtowels. The towels in main bathroom were not very nice. Fluffy towels would be recommended. The ‘fair’ walk to the beach was quite a ‘trek’ Not a comfortable walk with beach things, cooler boxes ect.

The apartment furnishes were lovely!! Washing machine, dishwasher. The silence of the complex was wonderful.

The unit was really great with good space for relaxing and a wonderful kitchen. Bathrooms are spacious and modern. In general it was an awesome spot really well furnished everything you could need for a stay in umdloti with kids.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Deserea assisted us with check in and was very quick with replies if we had any questions. Our children (aged 10 and 8) enjoyed the swimming pools with slide and the jungle gym as well!

Mould and dirt in both bathrooms and on the ceilings, bathrooms smelt dank and musty. We had a problem with the showers not draining and then the hosts immediately blamed us and said we must have shorter than our 4 to 5-minute showers and that we must reduce the pressure when having a shower, but when the plumber arrived he said that there was an airlock that was causing the problem. The air conditioner in the main bedroom started leaking onto the bed at 1:30 am and wet the person sleeping there as well as wet the bed and linen. The hosts immediately said it was our fault as we were running the air conditioner on too low a temperature, although there were no instructions telling us to only run the air conditioners at 21 degrees and higher. They did send someone over to change out the bedding, etc. We then did run the air conditioner at 21 degrees but it still dripped which meant one person had to sleep on the couch, which is very small and not comfortable for sleeping. Someone parked in our parking and the house manager basically asked us to contact the neighbour and ask them to move!! Rather than sorting it out themselves, which is what the instructions provided say they will do. We all know that load shedding is a reality in South Africa and were fully expectant of the disruption but really expected to have a working battery operated lamp and/or candles at least. These were not provided. The host's response to issues was to immediately blame the paying guests first and then to look to sort out the problems, rather than assessing the situation before blaming guests. We were in Durban for my mother's funeral which is in itself a stressful situation so we did not really need the inconvenience of things not working properly in an apartment that cost a lot of money. We will certainly not be renting from these hosts again and can not recommend them.

The check in process was horrid, the fingerprints taken did not work so we had to get the cards to help us exit and enter every time. The geyser did not work so we had to go without hot showers and even flew home to get a decent shower in for the weekend. We paid for 8 nights and lost in value as we spent two nights elsewhere just to have a decent shower, the host could of accommodated this better

The kids liked the slides and pools however you could not enjoy the facilities in the day as the neighbours stare at you, not a place for a holiday as most people are tenants or owners

The unit was immaculate and walking distance from the beach. If safety is one of your concerns, then this is the place to put that fear to rest. We were provided with everything one would need on a vacation and more. We were provided with more than expected when making use of self-catering. Everything was provided to allow the unit to be left the way we found it, although we were not requested to do so. It's a human and courteous thing to do. The owner and his team were very helpful and prompt with their responses. The decor assisted with a tranquility and amazing stay. I will recommend this unit without hesitation

The entertainment braai area was below par and dirty facilities. There was zero sea views unless you go to the braai area at the top. There was no braai at the apartment and we did not want to share facilities with others, especially as the facilities at the shared area was dirty. The walkway to the beach is a 25 minutes brisk walk - way too far for 2 small kids, especially as you need to carry things with you. I really missed my sea view but I learned my lesson and should have asked more clearly. Also, the beach was very polluted. We only went once and then rather went to Umdloti beach.

The slide for the kids was great. It was a modern place, well kept mostly and spacious.
