How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Main shower could be better. Would be great if it could be renovated like the ensuite. Electric gates would also be very helpful.
Great place to stay in stunning St Lucia! Lovely and helpful staff.

A twin tub washer rather than automatic and the TV connection would fail every 45 mins for about 2-3 mins before coming back.
Very clean, comfortable furniture, nice grounds, very friendly staff. Very quick and helpful communication with the owners when needed.

It was really cold during our stay and we could not enjoy the pool.
The house was absolutely beautiful and had everything we could possibly have needed. The host, Bianca, was really attentive and kept checking in to make sure that we were comfortable and having a good time.

Great house with lots of space, comfortable beds and a huge kitchen. I've never had such a well equiped kitchen in any holiday accommodation. The house is located right in the middle of the town center and the pool is nice too

for me everything was perfect but if you have a family who needs to charge phones iPads etc there is a lack off sockets. but please it’s only a small gripe .
how clean it was, if I was into cooking for myself this place would suit the bill as you have everything there to help. bed was super comfortable . the shower was awesome, lovely dipping pool perfect at the end off a hot day exploring. I put my dirty washing in the machine intending to do later but the daily maid surprised me by the time I got back all washed and folded wow that is service. Wi-Fi is great and no load shedding as the owner has her own energy.

I won’t remove any star for it because that is nothing to do with the house and the owner but every day and every night we had power cut because South Africa experience power shortages. so it’s more a comment about St Lucia. But the house has its own generator and Bianca was sending us the schedule of the cut every day.
the house is perfect, independent, walking distance from the little town, the pool is perfect for young kids (6 and 7). Bianca was checking on us genuinely to see if we would have need anything. the house is clean : very very nice time there

all was great!
very nice and quiet location, nearby everything on a walking distance! Spacious, comfortable, friendly staff and very accommodating host! Our doggies also loved it there.We definitely will come visit again! We have traveled a lot and stayed in many self catering cottages all over the country, never have seen a kitchen so complete, wonderful to cook!

We had a lovely few days here. The house is beautiful, spotlessly clean and has everything in it that you could possibly need. We particularly loved the outside area and swimming pool. It is in a prime area - set back but just a short walk from restaurants and shops. We would highly recommend it and would not hesitate in returning.

The fact that I only booked 1 night instead of my whole 4 night stay in the area!
Everything! Awesome, awesome, awesome location and setting! The tropical garden is amazing. The house is incredible and the relaxed, quiet atmosphere is wonderful! The patio and pool and every conceivable home comfort and appliance is there! Despite the really stormy weather and continues rain we were extremely comfortable!
