How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Better pillows in guest room and the guest bathroom drain was blocked.
Excellent location right on the beachfront. Kitchen is well equipped, could comfortably stay for a week!

Great location, a nice restaurant is just a stone's throw, warm pool in the complex, kind landlord and cleanlady. Highly recommend！

The apartment is a corner apartment so little to no sea view(if that's what you want) unless you step outside and you will get a glimpse of it. Kitchen has alot of black ants in and around the sink area. If the host could maybe supply extra toilet paper, especially for females. Cleaning lady claimed that she cleaned, we had to ask her to come back to clean when we got back from town as we could still see not much was done. The extra bedding in the cupboards looked dirty Hosts to consider adding air freshners in the bathrooms or in the cleaning closest.
The apartment was clean and comfortable on check in. We'll secured. Showers are good. Beautiful pool and an easy walk to access the beach. There is fans in all rooms and the lounge and if that doesn't help, there is an aircon so that's good. Host was in contact the week I was going to check in to send instructions and also available when I had any questions or queries. Apartment is also well equipped with kitchen utensils.

I didn't like that there was monkeys, which you do get abit cared leaving your doors opened/ siting outside.
I loved the location and the fact that we could always see the beach. Impressive location and restaurants and shops are within walking distance.

Some of the guests weren’t particularly fond of people of colour but we ignored them and went about our holiday.
Perfect location, clean and comfortable with direct access to the sea. Views of pool area straight from the apartment.

Cupboard doors in kitchen need attention. Put a sign that says only one person can shower at a time, otherwise nobody has hot water-geyser too small to accommodate 2 showering at same time. Put a loadshedding schedule up or just mention which area guests should look at on the ESP app

Not adequately kitted for the present loadshedding. Needs to equip with a gas stove. Couldn't find any matches or lighter to light candles. Would be ideal if you could add a few creature comforts for guests like coffee and cream for morning and some handwash soap in the bathroom

The entrance to open and close the main gate was abit of a trouble as well as the door and gate key to the apartment,the TV did not operate well.
Beautiful garden and pool views,neat apartment that is fully equipped,easy beach access with breath taking patio views of the beach,will definitely be back,ideal home to spend with family and friends.

Dstv was not working. (For the odd rainy day and the rugby).
We really enjoyed the pool area for the kids, which was fenced off. Location was great easy access to the beach and shops, and very secure. The cleaner was very friendly and helpful. Great Wi-Fi.

Excellent secure location right on beach front with easy access to beach. The directions to the location sent to us was spot on. The unit was clean and neat upon our arrival. This is a place were you can sit back and unwind from your daily stress with 3 beaches in close proximity. The bonus - its very affordable.

Due to the recent floods, we had problems with electricity and water now and then. Solar or generator will be very helpful. The owner did her best to ensure that we were comfortable. There was nothing to dislike.We enjoyed ourselves.
Location was excellent. It was our second visit to the place. Kids enjoyed themselves. The beach was easily accessible. We just opened the gate and we were there. The place is secure. We slept like "babies" and I managed to do my morning runs near the beach in the company of other runners, Ballito junction mall is just a few minutes away. We did our shopping. We watched a movie. We felt safe in the area

Unfortunately the unit does not have a direct sea view. You have to go outside and round the corner to see the view.
The unit was clean and had everything we needed. The pool in the complex was beautiful and there was no noise from other people staying around us. The unit is so close to the beach.
