The best recommendations. We stayed in the same Guest House the second time. The people who owned this House kept some of our luggage when we were traveling in Africa. It was slightly cold in the dining room. All other conditions are excellent.

Apparently the window type does not allow to install fly screens.

The guesthouse is separated from the main house. So you are not walking through the host's living room to get to your room as I had it at other places in Houghton Estate. I appreciated this fact very much.

I liked everything. There was nothing to not like. Please put a guest book in the room, I would have LOVED to have written a review for other guests to see.

Beautiful accommodation. Lots of room with own lounge area along with a dining table and chairs, perfect spot to remotely work if needed, Great Wi-Fi, Power outages didn't affect my stay as there is an inverter/solar working, so I didn't even notice the switch over. Breakfast was perfect. Delivered to the room. Continental. Lots of choice. Thank you, I will be back.

The space was very private for a getaway, both my Girlfriend and I loved the space, it was extremely clean. Angie and Gloria were very accommodating and made the trip even more special for us. including the fact they were willing to do some surprises for our stay. A long mirror would be a luxery. More attention to cleaning the drawers.

Because of the gated entry we had to carry the gate remote with us as well as the key to the house. It would be nice if the gate had a keypad and guests could be given a code instead of needing the host to physically let them in. Not sure if this is a technology that is even used there, though.

The property was beautiful and safe in a very nice neighborhood. We did the city tour bus and were able to walk to the bus stop near Mandela’s home. We were also able to walk to the Rosebank Mall which had many stores and restaurants. Our flight in was late, so we arrived to the property after check-in time. Our Uber driver had to call Angie several times before she came to the gate to let us in (she had already gone to bed), so I’d recommend arriving on time or having a clear discussion about a late arrival (we had booked this last-minute as a safer alternative to the location we had already booked). Breakfast was wonderful—hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cereal, cheese, fruit, juice, milk, bread—plenty of food to eat and some to have as a mid-day snack. There was a pool on the property but being winter it wasn’t open. Not sure if that was for guest use or just the owners, so something to clarify for a summer stay.

It was a jam packed trip so I sadly didn’t get to spend enough time in the room but that was my fault

It was extremely cute…it had every single thing I needed as a traveler and the breakfast baskets were just the cutest…it’s close to all the malls and Ubers are just a few minutes away… it was simply a wonderful experience ….and Angie the host is a beautiful soul… I got in very late in the night but she was still available on call, just wonderful
