The view is absolutely fantastic, could have sat on the deck all day. We stayed in one of the rooms looking over the river and it was amazing. The staff made it a very pleasant stop over, in fact they were totally professional ... everyone was super friendly and lovely to deal with.

Firstly, the roof covering, perhaps a problem with the bookink, in the photo the normal ceiling, what we were given was with straw on the ceiling, where I was heard and promptly changed rooms.

Helpfulness of the staff, very diverse menu and our meals were repeated some dishes and they were always the same excellent flavor.

The bathroom in general was a bit small and the warm water was not hot at all. We only opened the warm water tap to have a shower. It could however have been due to loadshedding. The rest of the room was to standard.

Both Dinner and Breakfast was really nice. The view was amazing. Looking over the crocodile river into the Kruger Park was great as that is where our holiday started. The staff was really friendly and made you feel at home. They are very accommodating.

Breakfast: Egg station was slow and toaster not working optimally, but otherwise all else good.

View was amazing from RIVER facing rooms! Proximity to Kruger park was WOW! Small touches like the tissues, peaceful sleepstick (mosquito repellent), complimentary 2 x bottles water daily was appreciated. A turndown service with chocolates the 1st night was a sweet surprise.

In our view the food was not as good as we have experienced in the past ( about 5-6 years ago).Gone from a 9 to a 6. We also had an issue with a very poorly maintained kettle in our room that needs to be replaced.

The location is fantastic. Outer building and gardens superb. Would only book a room with river view. Good for golfers doing a tour

The deluxe rooms facing the river are definitely worth the additional price. The sunsets from the deck are superb. Excellent location - a stones throw from Malelane Gate where you enter the Southern part of Kruger. I was hesitant about booking this hotel based on some reviews but would stay here again only if I can book a river facing room. I gave this an overall 10 because we enjoyed our stay although I was aware of the fact that with a few minor improvements in service they could achieve higher overall satisfaction levels. For one, they could double their income at the deck bar with personality and innovation.

Room service was poor. Can see room service was in room but floors were dirty throughout the stay, couldn't use bath only shower. Satellite TV reception was horrible in the evenings and weather was fine. Aircon was either cold or hot the temperature functions didn't work correctly.

Comfort of the std rooms

Location good - we were upgraded as we were celebrating 35 yr wedding anniversary . Very great full for the upgrade . Much appreciate the gesture. I would not recommend the rooms at Pestana if it is not on the river frontagefacing Kruger . The rooms were very basic , but river frontage excellent !!!!!

Service at the restaurant not great, take-aways not good value for money. Salad portion is very small for the price, turn-down missed a few nights. We booked for 3 ppl via Booking.com, but when we got there, the booking was only for 2.

Unfortunately the bathrooms aren't very clean and needs updating, I had a cold shower for 2 days until they eventually moved us. The towels have the most horrid smell.

The location was absolutely perfect, we booked the deluxe rooms overlooking the crocodile river with lots of game life to view. Food was ok not great and what you would expect from a 4 star lodge.

Room & surrounds affected by an unusual smell emanating from the stream running through the property.

Upgraded to a luxury room with excellent view of the Crocodile River & wildlife coming down to the river. Dinner of average quality, buffet breakfast good & plenty of it. Room comfortable with good facilities although showing it's age.

1. The taps in the shower could benefit from renovation, maybe in the long run, by replacing with a mixer. Now they have to be opened separately to balance cold and hot water. 2. With hindsit I would have booked a double bed and not Twin bed. 3. The lodge could consider including some information in the rooms about the Kruger Park and other nearby attraction.

Excellent location, diversified and tasty breakfast, large and tidy patio/garden, cosy and friendly restaurant with beatiful views to the Kruger Park, friendly and polite staff. Packed breakfast to enjoy during the visit to the park.

The rooms themselves were below average for a four-star hotel. The beds were super uncomfortable, the shower water would not warm up, and overall the room was outdated. 

The location was fantastic. From the balcony, we could see, hippos, elephants, crocodiles, water, book, and more. The food was really good. The Hotel organized safaris to pick us up and drop us off at the hotel which was super convenient.

Staff very responsive and friendly, help us with all our last minute requests. Restaurant was a positive surprise with very good options at very reasonable prices. Wi-fi always available w/ strong signal. Great location for those visiting the Park

The bathroom was a tad dated

The packed breakfast provided was great for early morning start to the park , the dinner in the restaurant provided a varied al a carte menu as well as a substantial buffet - great value. Unfortunately, we were unable to take full advantage of the view as we left and returned in the dark - however, the deck area looked spectacular ! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful

I paid for my bar drinks one evening and found I had also been charged for the drinks we had at Dinner, but we had already paid for the Dinner drinks before leaving the restaurant.

I would not have pre-booked Dinner if I had known it was a restricted choice option when there was an al a carte menu available.
