Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaAfter coming back my girlfriend wants to get an Alexa for our house 🤣
This place is perfect. It felt like my own personal second home. It was Fully equipped, it had more than enough space for two people. The WiFi worked without an issue. Everything was written out and explained in the welcome letter. The Alexa was a great touch. The backup power makes a difference and keeps the WiFi on in load shedding (only pity is that it can’t run a fan else the Barry drains quickly). I can carry on about all the details, but instead I’ll just say that you have to go and stay there to understand.

South AfricaThere is nothing that i did not like about the property i adore it very much . i only have one suggestion and it to have more light at braai area not the braai area itself but around it that you can switch on and off the reason is that we where a little bit afraid that something from behind or in front of us can charge us because we could hear activity near the braai area from behind and in front us so it spooked us a little we had to have my flash light on to see what we heard and that we can get out the way To run to the house because the braai area is just a little walk from the house and just to feel a little bit saver and not spooked That my only suggestion but still very much in love with the place !!!
I really enjoyed deck with the fans was really hot also the how the place was suited and felt like we where on our own i love how smart the house was and how it had everything we need in such a small place love that and the bath tub was really nice as well bed was very comfortable and clean

The property layout was great we enjoyed every bit of the noise in the evening of animals and it was remarkable on a daily based on facilities in the area.

South AfricaThe blinds in the unit were very fragile. I could not open the ones in the kitchen behind the cooker, so did not make use of the cooker.
This location was small, but was so practical and stocked with all the correct equipment one needs. Especially having an inverter to handle the loadshedding.

South AfricaThe only thing I can remark on is the cleanliness. Most things were a bit grubby (food still stuck to plates) and dirty floors etc. Outside also needs a tidy up.

South AfricaHaving to check-out.. I wanted to stay forever.
I didn't want to leave. Pheasant's Crest is a hidden gem. I would gladly pay double or even triple of the amount charged - it's really good value for money. The host was always available when we needed to be assisted. The place was very clean. Perfectly tucked in the bush for that intimate and relaxing experience. It has beautiful modern finishes, Board games and a variety of books. The Water pressure was perfect. The welcoming gifts (wine and candle) added that touch that was just perfect for our romantic getaway. I couldn't have stayed long enough to fully appreciate and experience all the impressive effort that has gone to making this little nest a loving home. Well done to the Host.. it is a very beautiful place. I miss Alexa.

South AfricaOther people dumping their rubbish into Pheasants Crest rubbish bin next to the road!! Watershedding because of loadshedding
Very cosy, well equipped cottage, tucked away in the bush. Private and many animals came to visit. Aircon, outdoor shower as well as the extra water tank made it well worth the stay!

South AfricaThe TV is a bit small, a netflix movie is not as comfortable as can be because it is situated so high, also, there was dirty laundry in one of the baskets in the room which made it a bit uncomfortable to stay in. One would like, on vacation, that there were no traces of people living in the house. A small pool would have been nice, it was boiling hot!!
We loved the wild animals and the quiet location

The best thing for me and my daughter was the bath. It is right in front of a window where you can still see the animals and it is quite comfortable. It is a 1 bedroom as described, but was very well equipped. Being from the older generation I luckily had my daughter there and met Alexa which was quite an experience and a big bonus as she can switch lights on and off, control the aircon, play music, tell you the weather and even tell some jokes and more. The patio is the place we spent most of our time and you can find pillows in the cupboard which makes it a great spot to relax and enjoy the animals. Alexa came in handy 1 afternoon since we somehow struggled opening the door and while waiting for someone to come to our rescue (which only took 1 phone call and a few minutes) we had her playing us some music. We bought food for the animals from the store so we had an abundance of animals. Even little mongoose and a spotted cat thingy as well as bush babies. There was also a whole lot of birds to be seen right from the patio. We had a Kudu that rather ate from our hands than eating from the ground. The house is not close to any of the other houses which gives you total privacy. The best meals we had when going out was at the Crocodile river restaurant.
