How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Unfortunately I paid the hotel and booking .com deducted the money as well and I’m now struggling to get refunded . Better communication required between booking.com and the hotel.
Comfortable rooms and bathrooms . Pretty area at the pool.

The room was extremely small, bad designed. No space to open 2 or 3 suitcases, Could not walk around easily. The bathroom akso small, the door had to stay open, no good lighting. Toiletries were almost not existed. For the first time in a hotel, i saw a bottle of shampoo, conditioner and shower bath all 3 in 1. There was a misunderstanding with our prepaid breakfast, if concluded or not. But ok it was solved. In general no value for so much money especially because of the inconvenient small room.
Very good location and side view to the ocean. Breakfast was good with no big variety but the stuff in the morning breakfast place was friendly.

On arrival: The porter left us to put luggage in the rooms. Popcorns at reception were served when we checked-in and never available on the remaining days of our stay, Rooms : not spacious . The rooms lack home / family touch , are designed for guests attending conferences or workshops especially when one wants to relax on a chair. Can't accommodate 18yr old kids of different genders as they had to share queen bed. Had to request disposable shower caps at reception throughout my stay. Glasses not properly cleaned and rooms will be cleaned midday/14:00 even if we left the room at 9:00am. Breakfast: It was prepaid on arrival however waiters will always ask if the method of payment is cash or card. Always have to request a tablespoon for cereal. The African lady making eggs is excellent in her preparation but she is not friendly.
The staff was friendly and services like requesting iron or maintenance were prompt. Impressed with the Swimming pool and gym facilities Breakfast met our expectations Barmen were friendly and had to personalize the cappuccino coffee they prepared e.g. Best year ( 01 January) & My name ( 02 January) Impressed with the device charging station near the reception. Location: excellent and convenient, Impressed with the amenities such as retail stores, restaurants and banks around the hotel. Walking by the seaside at Sea Point was one of my highlight. Costs of travelling by Uber / Bolt to Clifton beach and V & A was affordable.

The 3 waitresses at breakfast were miserable each day as was the female person at the garage entrance/exit.
The staff at reception, including the doormen, were friendly and welcoming.

Nothing to dislike.
We really enjoyed the location, everything was within easy walking distance. The breakfast was great with a good variety. It offered parking on site which was very convenient.

That it gets really busy in the early hours of the morning. Groupings in age categories are quite important.
