From the moment you arrive William and his staff make you feel at home. All of the rooms in the property are very spacious and beautifully decorated we were very lucky and upgraded on our last night to the honeymoon suite which is out of this world. As we arrived after a long day we took William’s gracious invitation and stayed in for dinner which I can only describe as a private dining experience never to be forgotten. We had breads and dips for starters all homemade followed by line caught fish then desert. William also has a very good selection of wines to choose from at very reasonable prices. The following morning we had fresh brewed coffee and tea before a large selection of breakfast items. We spent the day exploring the Cape and on our return opted again to stay in and eat with another fantastic meal share with other guests. I cannot recommend Residence William French highly enough. From location as the nearest for the Cape to being next to Boulders Bay for the penguins. Exquisite rooms and fine dining. Thank you so much William and ladies.

Only the fact that we didn't book a longer stay!!

We had the pleasure of spending one night at Residence William French in March. From the moment we arrived Primrose made us feel at home and did everything in her power to make our stay special. Dinner was a very romantic affair and the food was excellent. The Blue Room was stunning, every piece of furniture bespoke, large spacious bed with luxurious linen and the most magnificent views!

Long trip to main sights, apart from the penguins that you could walk to and were fab

Beautiful view, great pool , a most gorgeous home . William’s attention to detail was unique and charming. The most idyllic setting . We had probably one of our most delicious meals cooked by William , very romantic. Primrose and Angela breakfasts were superb (fruit salad and yogurt )yummy !

It was just fabulous. The location is great. Sunrise we could see out of the bed. William is a host with a big heart and this you can feel everywhere, especially in his delicious food. We surely will come back.

Hard to fault anything. Just make sure you're in sociable mood if you decide to request dinner!

We had the stunning penthouse room with its own private terrace & amazing views over False Bay. The decor throughout is stylish and comfortable. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, the breakfasts amazing. They'll whip up a gourmet dinner if you book, though you'll need to be sociable as it's one big shared table. We'd definitely stay there again.

The food was just incredible. Would highly recommend having dinner here. Although you will pay more than going out it is worth it. A great place to stay if you want to be close to the beaches, penguins and Cape point. Very safe area where you can go for walks. We loved William's dogs, Betina and Cookie who will give you a terrific welcome. We have not stayed in a better guest house. Our only regret was not trying the pool but was a little chilly given it was November.

Having to leave.

Williams home is a place of beauty, tranquility, relaxation and being spoiled rotten. The food is absolutely first class, breakfast is a veritable delight and the interior of the property is stunning. Outside the pool is a haven of peace whilst overlooking beautiful scenery. The staff members Primrose and Angie are simply the best, friendly, professional, attentive but never intrusive, they are a real asset to William. My wife and I adored this place, we can’t wait to return.

There was nothing we didn't like. I can see how some people would be nervous about the prospect of communal meals but we had a lovely time with the other guests.

"Went above and beyond" doesn't even start to cover it. William and his team (bonus involvement of his parents who were in town!) were absolutely brilliant. Couldn't do enough to help. The room was sensational, the food extraordinary, the people so very special.

Outstanding service from start to finish. The whole team was welcoming, friendly and we were made to feel part of William’s extended family for the week. The food was exceptional. We’re still missing the breakfast croissants!! You MUST book dinner for at least one evening, one of the finest meals you will eat in the Cape. William’s attention to detail, years as a top chef, and his true passion shone through. Sublime! x The decor and cleanliness were faultless. Beautiful lounge area with interior flair, large bed, large shower, sun loungers by the pool and stunning view topped it off.

William and the staff went out of their way to please us. He is very helpful and super friendly. He also went above and beyond in allowing us to borrow some beach towels :-) Also, the view was fantastic!
