Beautiful lodging with attention to detail make this a special place. A very spacious house with wrap around veranda. Spotlessly clean with complimentary fresh flowers in the living area, rusks and coffee. Big, fully equipped kitchen. The game farm is set against one mountain range with a view over another. We enjoyed game and bird viewing on foot. The quests to the lodge are the only occupants on the farm. The night skies as only in the Karoo. We will be back

The accommodation was amazing. Big beautiful spacious home with everything you need and more. The farm is also so stunning and we loved the freedom of exploring the farm. The Giraffe were also really special.

The isolation and privacy was just incredible. T here wasn't a house or person in site. It felt like true freedom... the house is gorgeous, clean and you want for nothing. The hosts have really thought of everything. As a Couples getaway it was paradise. We were so lucky, going for a short sunset drive on the farm, we were suddenly faced with giraffes, a variety of deer, buck and antelope, one zebra who is definitely a buck in his eyes as he cruises with the herd everywhere they go. We saw wildebeest, ostrich, a variety of birds and more. It was more than we ever expected. Stunning...

Very spacious house, with a lovely wrap around verandah on all sides. Super well equipped. Nothing better than watching the sun go down from the deck, with a few farm animals grazing in the foreground and majestic mountains in the distance. All in all, a beautiful place.

Absolute nothing we did not like! Everything was exquisite

We loved everything about this hidden gem of a guestfarm. This newly built farmhouse is surrounded with a stoep and the most beautiful views. You can even spot a gemsbok or giraffe from the house! The open plan kitchen is equipped with everything you possibly need. There were nothing we needed that we could not find. The fireplace warmed us during the cold winter day/night. But we enjoyed the braai on stoep aa well. The two double bed rooms with ensuite bathrooms is spacious, modern, with shower and bath with door leading to the stoep. The kids loved their room at the end if house with bathroom and doors leading to the stoep as well. During the day they played endless hours on the farm and in the evenings boardgames in the lovely livingroom. The hostess was so kind and made us feel at home. We will certainly go back !

On arrival we did have an issue with the WiFi. The hosts did however get this sorted the following day. The house does not have cell reception, so while the WiFi was a problem we had to walk or drive to the district road to get reception - not ideal if you had work to do / monitor. The WiFi is also capped so no streaming is possible. The main access gate from the district road is not ideal. It is a chain with a lock and therefore requires you to get out of the car each time you arrive or leave the farm.

The location of this guest farm was perfect - just outside De Rust on the road to Uniondale. The house is set well off the district road and set up against the hills behind the house. It was lovely to see the wild animals around the property. Great to take a walk in amongst the Springbok, Giraffe, Eland, Wildebeest etc... The house was large and very well equipped with everything you might need for a get away. It was clean, neat and tidy. It had a large communal area with a fire place and large verandah that runs around the entire house. Ideal for sitting and enjoying the scenery and animals... or reading a book.
