How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The dishwasher did not work and many light bulbs did not work and needed to be replaced. The shower sprays out as it is walk in and make the whole floor very wet.
Very comfortable bedroom and kitchen had all the equipment needed for a comfortable stay. Electric blankets and heaters are a bonus for when it is cold. Food was delicious and very friendly staff.

We were allocated two units that were about a kilometre apart. Although the description on Booking.com does talk about "different accommodation options" we didn't realise until we got there our accommodation units were about 1 km apart - which was a major problem for us given we are a family with relatively young children.
The apartment was excellent and clean, with a style that very much fitted Dullstroom's largely upmarket tourism. The beds and sofas were comfortable. The units nice and clean.

It was centrally located. The scrumptious breakfast was delicious! (breakfast is served a short distance away at the restaurant).

The weather was very cold and rainy, a log fire would have been a useful addition, as only one heater provided
Friendly reception, well-equipped unit/suite. breakfast very adequate, very attentive waiter, all in all very good for a B&B Faulty light fitting was attended to immediately it was reported Electric blankets a necessity for the cold weather, they were much appreciated

Parking!! cant turn the car and had to reverse out, not easy at night. But managed!!
Very modern, Great outdoor veranda and a verry nice big bed. Place was super clean, Gas stove for coffee with loadshedding and a oil heater for the cold evenings!!

Would suggest adding a shower for the upstairs bedroom as it is difficult to wash your hair in the bath. Also would suggest adding some USB plugs for device charging.

The rooms are a short drive away from the main restaurant for the breakfast.

The bathroom light wasn't working. The basin water was just a trickle and very slow to drain away.
Easy check in and out. Warm and comfortable beds. Breakfast was excellent. Useful USB adapter by the bed.

When there’s loadshedding they only provide a lamp and this place is cold.
The place is comfortable, safe and feels like home. I love that the accommodation provides breakfast too.

Uncomfortable beds (hard, I would suggest a doona/duvet instead). It's unclear whether the bathroom had mechanical ventilation as switches were not labelled.

We booked late and arrived late. Due to a problem with the original unit they booked us into, they moved us to another house but unfortunately the directions hadn't been altered. Because we arrived late, we struggled to find the revised accommodation. However they were very helpful in correcting the mistake and guiding us to the new premises.
Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. The accommodation was comfortable and all the facilities worked.

Room extremely cold in winter. The room should come with a heater. The aircon did not work on heat mode. Made the evenings long and cold.
Accommodation is clean, in a very good location. Breakfast is fantastic.

The shower glass door is opposite to the shower head so a lot of water messes onto the bathroom floor even if the bath mat is there.
Lovely, quiet area was exactly what we needed to relax. I enjoyed fetching the keys and map from the restaurant, it gave me old school vibes like we were going on an adventure. The breakfast and service from waitors the next morning was really good!
