How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

There was almost no cutlery in the kitchen, sometimes staff is unavailable or you have to look around for them constantly. Lack of maintenance with some of the beds and facilities around like they almost hanging by a thread and a crazy mosquito infestation around featuring some roaches, can’t even go number 2 in peace
The staff is helpful and friendly, always approachable. Location is close and central to a lot of things and most times it’s peaceful around

There's no Wi-Fi. The janitor guy doesn't knock, he just opens.
For the price I paid, I excepted exactly what I got. I didn't expect 5 star when I only paid R176 per night. They try to keep it clean . The staff is friendly.

We were not told that we pay extra cash to get blankets and iron and we asked for a knive we were not given... We were suppose to use a chair to climb the bunk beds, there were no towels in to use after bathing... We couldn't get help instant they argued in front of us that we were not suppose to be in that room our room was on the other side so the housekeeper guy couldn't help with everything we wanted... We were not told to bring our own lighters for our rooms during loadshedding and there is nothing they can do we will stay in the dark... We were so disappointed nje... And the sink on the bathroom was leaking when we wash our hands😥

Place terribly kept Owner could really use some renovations The dorms are not fit for Human living. 10 beds cramped in a space that is good for 4. I don't see how one can breathe in there There were power cuts and place does not provide even a candle for light since they clearly won't invest in a generator or rechargeable lights. We were in complete darkness all evening It was pouring rain and the receptionist has dissapeared...people were stranded in the dark and on the rain unable to go in or out

I found a worm and a fish moth from under my bed. I had to push the office staff to find out the power outage problem on my first night. I would've appreciated a full refund for my last night as I couldn't stay. I am still waiting for the voucher. The kitchen was not well stocked and could've been cleaner. The taps are almost broken. I can't shower as I have a slipped disc and had to wash instead of having a bath.

Dining needs to be warm, so that we can enjoy TV. Blankets or inners should be long enough to cover us when sleeping. Ironing room must have lights. Place is not participating in saving electricity or Go green world.
Place is very neat, staff members actually do their job. Spotless!!

The bed was not comfortable the side I was on had horrible bathroom that were unclean and the was a mix up with the booking, I booked on bookings.com but they said there was no space for me for that particular room I booked

Staff are helpful. Its a budget place with lots of people staying there on a low budget. Things are generally not efficient, but that might be the computer system for checking in (which took a really long time). I did save money by staying here. It is very safe and a good neighborhood.

Solomon was rude don’t have permission for clients
Yesterday was visiting police and fidelity security and the owner Christisize black people and take pictures for kids and Solomon was very rude and this 2 ladies was good for everyone and they come in after a hour and check
