The smell in the rooms but not a train smesh since it is a heritage site

I was with my husband, son and daughter. The place is so mind refreshing and it's a heritage site. I liked the hospitality and the fact that there's a police station within the areas so safety is guaranteed. The break fast was superb

Travelled from the UK and hotel only had the round plug sockets rather than the square more modern type. Should have brought a travel plug after all.

Stayed here before - in 1989. Felt just the same. Quaint, old fashioned feel to it. Got what I expected and very happy with it. Had a great breakfast that morning and a most enjoyable evening meal the night of our stay. All felt very safe walking around.

Maintenance of facility was disappointing. For such an old building would have been nice to see it in a better maintained condition.

Good wholesome fresh food. Friendly staff and efficient staff. Nice variety on the breakfast buffet.

The restaurant area (furniture and curtains) needs some improvement. The curtains are old and sad, it can be removed to make the best of the view. Parking is not behind locked gates, but in the street.

Breakfast is good, well prepared. Dinners was also tasty and we were able to take it in the bar area. The town of Pilgrim's Rest is worth visiting and we also visited the glass lift in Graskop, which we can highly recommend.

We booked 2 rooms. One of them had a bit of sewer smell. The open bathtub without curtains was difficult not to flood the entire bathroom.

A step back in time. Comfortable rooms. Nice breakfast. Parking. Able to accomodate our late arrival.

Towels need replacing. Toilet paper was 1 ply. Common areas need updating curtains and couches. Staff should dress to time period reflected in furnishings for a unique experience
