We stayed at the Casita. It is a lovely studio unit that is well furnished for its size. It even has its own inverter to avoid loadshedding. The sparkling pool in front of the unit is great for cooling down on a hot summer’s day. We can recommend Rus in De Rust to any of our fellow travelers.

a little bit of milk for our tea in the fridge would have been appreciated.

Breakfast wasn't included but the host had left some lovely biscotti for us to enjoy. We had a lovely quiet stay overnight, which was just what we needed after a long drive. We had loadshedding and the following day the accommodation was upgrading the cottage onto a solar system. Will definitely stay there again.

The open shower in the cold weather is something to get used to 😁It would be nice to have some DSTV channels to watch. That’s the only two small things.

Great communication from hosts Deon and Karin. Rus in De Rust is a lovely cottage set in a beautiful garden - just what you need for an over night stop. The cottage is beautifully decorated and the bed was super comfy! Will definitely recommend a stay here for a night or three if you are looking for some peace and quiet.

The Casita didn’t have air conditioning - while there is a fan, this just wasn’t enough, it gets exceptionally hot inside there during summer and you can’t open windows because of the mosquitoes. I think the addition of mosquito screens on all doors and windows for both the main house and casita would help hugely especially to help with those pesky flies too!

what a gorgeous property! wow! we loved and appreciated all the amenities on offer. the main house and Casita are both beautifully styled - such great value for money! the pool is amazing, the staff are great - very kind and and helpful. they are also well kitted during load shedding which is such a help!
