Amazing oasis in the middle of the Game Reserve. Super friendly and attending staff and the ultimate safari experience. Highly recommend this for everyone looking for luxury and safari!

Sometimes the temperature of the outdoor shower was hard to balance, but this didn’t affect our enjoyment of the stay!

Everything! The lodges were clean, cosy and comfortable. We had a great nights sleep. The small pool on our veranda was a real treat when the sun came out, and you can look out over the grasslands spotting antelopes and warthogs.

Food was absolutely wonderful. Staff were amazing - friendly, efficient and professional. Having spent countless days in the South African bush, this was a step above it all. To have a game ranger like Martin conducting our twice daily drives was the “cherry on the top”. His lovely attitude, enthusiasm and incredible knowledge makes the Safari Lodge a definite return location.

On the first day we found mosquito larvae in the drinking water provided in our room as we were drinking the water in the glasses provided. The staff quickly came in and cleaned the water pitcher and put fresh new water in it. The bathtub had dirt and sand in the bottom. The info about the facilities was misleading on whether or not the small pool outside our room was a hot tub. I was under the impression that it was a hot tub.

Room facilities were excellent, a bath mat would have been great! Loved the towels. The plunge pool was a fantastic extra, Would have liked to have been able to switch it on outside of the set timing.

Breakfast was ample with plenty of choice.

Beautifully set up complex Loved the room/lodge! It's spacious, luxury and offers all facilities (airco, fan, kettle, drinks, luxury hair dryer) Super friendly staff that was cheered up all the time. The property offers 3 meals a day with lots of variation/ options. Great game drives with input towards the rangers to what animals you would like to see. Would recommend max 2 nights. Thanks for an amazing time!!

Nothing - the transfer from the airport to the accomodation seems a little bit pricey in comparison to taxi prices in Cape Town but in hindsight we probably should have hired a car and I would recommend this to other people staying. Not to get around at Amakhala but so that you can then drive the garden route if you are going on to Cape Town.

Loved everything about our stay! The safari was amazing, we saw 4/5 of the big five (unfortunately no leopards but know that they are very hard to spot). Martin was our driver and was so informative about everything from the plants to the animals. The accomodation itself has such a lovely relaxed feel to it - we slept so well every night! The staff are all amazing, very helpful, and the food was brilliant. There is nothing we could fault about our stay and hope to be able to come back at some point. This will definitely be a trip to remember, thank you!

Absolutely everything! The staff were a stand out, they were so lovely and helpful and our ranger Martin was so amazing - super passionate about the reserve and it shows! The rooms were big, clean and very comfortable - 3 amazing nights of sleep! The watering hole was right outside our room and we saw giraffes, warthogs, kudu and more!

Beautiful place, comfortable and elegant bungalows, and great food. Including in the night price are two game drives in their amazing private reserve, all full board which is like 5 meals with all the snacks etc, so it s good value for money (especially if discounted which was our case). What really made it special though was our game ranger Mnoni (The President as they call him). His gentle ways, sense of humour, and dedication to please us while being respectful to the animals, made our drives truly amazing. He really went above and beyond, thank you so much!

We loved everything about this stay! The rooms were very clean, well decorated with a true African Bush feel. The food served during our stay was absolutely delicious. A big thank you to the staff who made it even more enjoyable - Sunny, Jean Luke, Unathi and Bulela. We had Sunny as our ranger and he was perfect.

This Lodge was by far the best location we visited during our stay in Africa. We had Desmond as a game driver. He was very knowledgeable and funny. It was a real pleasure dooing the outings with him. They also had a system in which everybody was assigned to a waiter. Sheldon the waiter was also amazing.
