Swimming pool was really cold. Shower was blocked. Hair dryer didn't work. Would be nice if rooms were air conditioned. Would be great if bottled water was available in the room daily.

Loved the proximity to the beach. Beautiful views from the room. Breakfast was lovely. Great variety on offer. Loved the ambience of the breakfast hall.

The passages to rooms were wet most of the time (not from rain) and often had an unpleasant odor due to being mopped without detergent.

Old hotel but really well maintained. Stunning gardens leading to the beach and tidal pool. Beautifully maintained swimming pool and loungers. Room had a great view. Food was delicious and restaurant was great.

On entering the rooms, there was a bit of a scent that was not pleasant. The rooms are wonderfully spacious but no cutlery is provided and tv is awkwardly placed. Lighting in the hotel could be better as the building is an antique

Breakfast was delicious, variety of meals to choices was great. The staff were always available to remove unused dishes.

Salt Rock Hotel has the most beautiful setting and the views are breathtaking. The food was delicious, the staff were helpful and friendly and the rooms was clean and comfortable.

The number one attraction to the property is the proximity to the sea and the associated view and really that is almost all that matters. The rooms are good but a bit dated and the food is exceptional, the breakfast spread is very good and the curries live up to reputation.

Wake up call for Breakfast - people that is on holiday want to sleep late and don't mind skipping breakfast now and then , please don't call them to wake up for breakfast . Room Cleaning - If the "do Not Disturb ' sign is NOT on the door please do not wake up the people sleeping to ask if you should clean Do not wake up your guest holidays are for sleeping in /late

Room service was poor - charged R20 for sweet Chilli sauce. No salt provided and arrived 1/2 after request - meal was cold already. Lunchtime dishes only collected the next morning.

We went during some very hot days, and the rooms on the 6th floor felt like ovens. Air-conditioning wouldn't be a big luxury to make the rooms more comfortable, especially for the nights.

The rooms had a great ocean view, you could walk out of the room, straight on the beach. The staff was very friendly, and breakfast was super! It was nice to have a swimming pool at the hotel.

To be honest, the building and rooms are run down. It is sad considering what a great position it has. With renovations, it could become easily a 5 stars hotel.

The place is simply magnificent: the position just on the private beach, the large pool, the garden… The staff is very warm and friendly The food is very good and the curry especially is divine

No aircon in room but there was a bidet? Not terribly well thought out. Bathroom door should open into room rather than take space in the bathroom. Hotel has an old, slightly dilapidated feel.

That we had to leave after 4 days. Would love to come for a longer stay and I don't have to work.
