Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

South AfricaThe fans in the apartment are worn out and with the terrible heat we had in the first few days made it unbearable to sleep and be inside the unit. The swimming pool needs to be booked for an hour at once and always late at night like 7-8 Security also made it quite uncomfortable when walking past the units at night staring into the bedroom etc. Both bathroom's toilet taps leak and the shower head is placed on a very narrow space where you actually close the tap with your back when trying to wash your hair. I didn't mention any of this during my stay, the check in process was a bit impersonal for me but maybe it's just me, when you try to contact someone after being on the road for 6/7 hours you just receive a short WhatsApp stating we have sent you check in details, I mean literally after driving so far, the last thing you want to check is your phone, you want to get into the unit unpack and unwind.

United KingdomIt was impossible to gain access to the property. Emails I forwarded to the hosts were ignored. All 5 the mobile phone numbers they offer to contact the host were never answered. Always went to answer phone. Thankfully I had a local contact who managed to organise the information I needed to gain access to the property. It the hosts are expecting international guest they should try and be more ready to assist and give clearer details of how to gain access. The whole process was extremely stressful.

South AfricaThe property charged R730 for CLEANING per stay, did not send anyone to clean and then asked me to pay more for cleaning. Every single cutlery and crockery in thr kitchen was covered in grease, not washed. There is broken knives and scissors and other items, dangerous and unusable. The tv cabinet is broken and nearly fall on my child. One toilet does not work (the toilet in the bathroom with the shower) and the property is aware of this as they switched off the toilet valve. I messaged them during my stay, they refused to help and told me to contact booking.com. When I contacted booking.com, they told me that they cannot help me as I should contact the property.
Do not ever book this place! The owners are awful and unhelpful despite many complaints to them about dangerous maintenance issues. The toilet does not even flush!
