Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

My booking was for the 26th night - the booking was made online. The monies were deducted instantly. however, to end the place is like looking for a needle in a haystack. No one calls from the lodge to confirm. After driving about in the dark and hoping to find the address, the gate to Santa Rosa in locked. No gate key or telephone to allow communication. i thus needed to drive back onto a road where i got cellular signal as there was non at the location. The person answering the call said he would get his colleague to open the gate. Driving back a second time - no one to open the gate and despite hooting for attention - no one arrives. I thus have to drive to where there is signal and on this occasion, told that i now need to get to Hluhluwe River Lodge as the person for the Santa Rosa lodge is not available. My question is why take a booking when you do not have staff. The accommodation at Santa Rosa was never reached, rather i stayed at the Hluhluwe River Lodge. The rating for Santa Rosa was a 10. Who are the 4 people who rated this lodge - probably INSIDER TRADING if you ask me. So i am a very disgruntled guest who was never made to feel welcome and then summarily sent to another lodge. Please make the owner and staff know how frustrating it is when 1. there is inadequate signage to the property 2. no access to communication 3. no one calls ahead to inform one of the problems they are encountering (ie the lodge staff) 4. the staff had no idea about the booking and were expecting payment the next day - at the Hluhluwe River Lodge ) What nonsense is happening at this location. this needs to be reported to the authorities in charge of the hospitality industry....
