Beautifully presented rooms, very well maintained, super clean. The owners are living in the property and check if everything is OK which is a lovely personal touch. Dinner and breakfast were superb.

No generator during loadshedding. Too warm in the room because of this.

Dinner with candles was very romantic. The food was very delicious. The room was comportable. The territory is perfect.

Thankfully loadshedding wasn’t too bad while we were there. I don’t recall there being a generator on site when the electricity went down.

The food is like no other. I would describe the breakfast as a 4 course degustation!! On top of that the menu changed each day. Dinner was equally fantastic. The staff are super on the ball and proactive; asking us at breakfast if we need assistance with a dinner reservation and the icing on the cake was having our hire car washed without even asking for it to be done. All complimentary. If you’re an animal lover, the owners beautiful pets can be found walking around the grounds or in reception. They are so cool!

great location in town staff were amazing - small touches like washing the cars before departure, their friendly attitude and their willingness to assist in making everything perfect. rooms were large and well equipped. any concerns were attended to immediately breakfast and dinner were amazing. you can really appreciate the effort the owners put in to being present and engaged with all aspects of the house.

Amazing Victorian house, well organized and maintained. the family that own the hotel really nice and must say that the breakfast was delicious! we didn’t eat dinner there but it looks pretty good as well.

we were greeted at the gates with a huge smile and very welcoming hoist. we were upgraded to the honeymoon suite by mistake which made our stay in a very romantic self contained location in fabulous grounds very special.

The only room for improvement that I could think of if I was knit picking would be more lighting options that don't require electricitiy for during load shedding. We brushed our teeth and read out books with one of us using the provided torch and the other our phone light.

The food was delicious, particularly the vegan options. We loved the breakfast provided! The venue was so beautiful and we loved the fire being lit and hot water bottles being lit whilst we were eating dinner. Staff were so kind and attentive. The list could go on!

One needs to appreciate that this is an Old house (1853) and much of the furnishings are around the old antiques of that time which tend to be dark. So I find the lighting in the bedrooms was dark as well. Needed a lamp (provided)to see what was in the old wardrobe.

Very old manor House which was very comfortable. The staff were amazingly helpful and caring. The owners live upstairs in the main manor and the rooms are in an Annex building so it was lovely to have the family and domestic animals around made it more homely. Alison goes the extra mile in ensuring great meals and is very friendly. Has a wonderful story to tell about how they bought and renovated the Manor. Some really nice touches. Lovely warm fire when we returned to our room after Dinner and in the morning our car had been washed. Lovely comfortable big bed. Underfloor heating in the bathroom which was large and spacious but could have been quite cold without the heating

this was of all places we stayed in in South Africa the best! The eye for detail, the service level, the three course breakfast, the fact that they washed our car without us asking for it, the overall style and taste of Alison and Rich, it was all perfection! Super suggestions of what to do in the area, the fact that Alison organized a meeting with Carl of Olivedale, the booking at La sosta it was all fabulous! Everything was perfectly communicated and we had a fantastic stay! lovely to see how the new staff is trained as well. We will definitely be back and will tell everyone we know to stay here

Alison and Richard were wonderful and helpful hosts. Their personal attention to details ( car wash, coffee and tea on arrival). A beautiful historical house in a historical town with great restaurants in the area. The best breakfast along the Garden Route.

There really wasn’t anything that I did not like. I loved everything.

The property and accommodation is exquisite. We stayed in the Honeymoon suite and it was so beautiful. The attention to detail is amazing. There is a fireplace in the room, beautiful furnishings and bedding, luxury bathroom with local Rain creams, soaps, shampoo. The staff and owners are friendly and always smiling. The breakfast is a 3 course event. Local and homemade wonderful food!
