How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The view is spectacular, the apartment is very comfortable with warm decor. The facilities are excellent. My family and I really enjoyed the place.

The wifi connection/LTE signal in the bedrooms was very bad.
Everything was great. It was clean and had everything you would need as self-catering. Sea view was amazing

If I'm overly critical, the parking bay is a bit small for a big car. Security helped us out though and provide alternate parking.
Great location, comfortable and we'll equipped. Was a great stay for the family.

The apartment was spotless, well equipped and beautifully decorated. The view from the balcony and main bedroom is breathtaking. Was very easy to arrange with Alistair where to collect keys etc. Would definitely be back soon.

If u get a ground floor apartment,the downfall is listening to furniture move above you and the running around,the main en suite bathroom is stunning but the water seem to backflow and accumulate
It was home close to home,it was fully equipped and clean,breathtaking sea views, even spotted the dolphin's,absolutely gorgeous,well kept pool,WiFi,Netflix,will definitely be back for another vacation.

Parking spaces are very difficult for big vehicles. Sound from above which sound like they coming from within unit 3, in the form of furniture or heavy walking from very early morning.
We had very rainy weather but the view was still great.

From the parking you need to go up a flight of stairs to reach the apartment, not a problem if you don’t have a lot of luggage.
The apartment has a beautiful kitchen, the place is set up well with, everything you require. Waking up to lovely views of the sea is a big plus.

Perfectly located on Umdloti north Beach. Walking distance to the tidal pool and sufficiently away from any beach day visitors. Absolutely stunning beach views. The 3 bedroom apartment is beautifully furnished and exceeded expectations

No elevator for elderly people and for carrying of luggage, parking no. 3 very small and cramped, 2 of the rooms in the apartment were airy and spacious but the 3rd bedroom was a bit cramped and felt damp. 2nd and 3rd bedrooms had poor wifi reception. Need to pay extra for cleaning if required.
Beautiful location and views, quiet and peaceful surroundings, well furnished, modern apartment, secure and covered parking, good wifi reception in lounge area and main bedroom, DSTV and Netflix channels for entertainment, helpful owner who attended to all our needs.

Not to complain, just to mention. The aircon in the living area, even though its on it didnt cool the area. It didnt bother us as the aircon in the room cooled the entire place sufficiently enough for our liking. Just something that might need to be checked. Overall we had no complaints.
We had a lovely stay at Alastairs beautiful apartment rental. We loved the total privacy and the efortless check in and check out. Alastair was an excellent host. Thank you for a lovely stay. We will be back for sure!

We had a very nice stay at this place. The appartment is very well decorated with a suberb view on the ocean and a nice terrasse. Beds are very comfortable, the kitchen was equiped with everything we needed. Everything was perfect !

Nothing except my stay was too short.
Everything. From the cleanliness and well designed apartment to the facilities that one would require...perfect... and it's directly opposite the beach which means a beautiful sea view. The host Alastair is an absolute gem with his quick response to any queries and his thoughtful gesture to having coffee available when one arrives. Already planing my next trip.

Apartment was not very clean when we arrived and we had to clean the toilets ourselves, people had to come in to fix the toilet seat that was broken, Apartment could do with a washing machine for long staying families, The aircon was leaking into the lounge so the floor was always wet and the lounge roof was flaking all over.
Owner was very helpful and the view was amazing
